Little update.. couldn't get two of the four screws that hold the iac on loose for the life of me. Ended up rounding them off. Threw everything back together anyway hoping this solved my problem. Now trying to figure out this kobalt air regulator thing to catch any oil from the crankcase to keep it from going back into the intake.

I feel bad that I'm going to chop a nice rust free replacement frame. Almost ready to bust out the torch.

Don't feel too bad, it's gonna turn out sexy as fuck so who cares!

But it is sorta like taking the first bite of a perfect burger... such a beautiful yet sad moment.

I would possibly sell it lol. I'm going to fabricate a new front half and weld frame plates along the entire thing, so I might actually come out ahead modifying the ram frame to mount the Tacoma body on it.

Is that easily doable? Ram frame with Taco body sounds like a bit of a faff. Where have you seen this done might I ask?

It's never been done as far as I know. I have nothing to go off of. I'm winging it! Nothing about this will be easy haha.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Probably a good idea to use the RAM frame, otherwise you'd have a Taco with a self bending frame with that Cummins in it.

Damn, that's some initiative right there! Looking forward to watching your progress, a bit of winged fab is always entertaining.

Now that I mull it over, I think I'm going to attempt that first. I can even get away with a couple inches of "body lift" if needed by making taller body mounts. None of those sketchy hockey pucks. I will definitely need to shorten the frame since it's an extended cab 8' bed. Probably need to narrow it too. Or it can stick out past the body and act as a rock slider.

Whatever you do, get a genuine Toyota one or a CAPA certified aftermarket bumper. I had to replace mine after hooking the corner on the support for a carport cover. I paid $120 for the whole deal, and it looks and fits like shit. Im only able to use 3 out of 4 bolts to hold it in.

I painted my front fenders (not with a spray can), replaced both inner and outer tie rod ends, replaced both lower ball joints, replaced the drivers side axle and drained and refilled my tranny fluid.
All after working the whole day.

So let me get this straight..

Now you're basically going to put a tacoma cab on a hacked up dodge frame and drive train?

So you cut up and disassembled your 100% totally fine and very nice tacoma only to use the body? Instead of buying a body at a junk yard and using the taco as a weekend warrior/dd?

Did you just finish binge reading @45acp build?

    Rip another tacoma...
