Tire Size Problem??

I have a Tuff Country 2" Leveling kit installed on the front of my truck and 3" TC add-a-leaf springs on the back with Rough Country 3-4" shocks. I am currently running my stock size of 265x70x16 Cooper Discovery ST's so for the time being I'm letting these tires wear out and replace with a new tire/wheel combo(which isn't so hard considering only 15,000 miles with balance/rotating and only 25% tread left). I am heart set on the TSL Thornbird tires and am highly considering new 15x10" wheels due to offset, and somewhat cheaper. The big question is, I am looking at the 31x12.50x15 Thornbirds and wondering if they are ANY taller than the tire's I'm running now??? That's what I'm looking for, bigger and wider tires to raise my stance^

You really have to be carefull finding a 15" rim that will fit. also a 10" wide rim is tricky to mount also with out wheel spaces.

Just get a 16x8 Rim and you can Run a 31.12.5.16 with no problems.

also im not sure about the new thorn birds but there a terrible tire. they look cool. but there performance sux compared to other SuperSwampers.

 

Well, I appreciate the input, but I am already running a 16x8 wheel and looking for a more cheaper 15". Also, I've read reviews on the Thornbirds and they're all TSL has to fit my needs...having a 2wd and all...*Also for the other guy, thanks for the tire analysis but Interco doesn't make a 32" Thornbird, which would be ideal...

 

I thought the 16" wheel was metric...can you run a standard size tire on a 16?

 

It's not metric with Interco, and also it's 2.5% shorter than the 265 on 16..

Aggressive, show/at tire, that can take the heat from the road but can tear up some Alabama dirt roads and hunting trails if needed.

Well I'm hoping to get around 30k+ with frequent rotating and balancing, which the Cooper ST's do not come close even though they say they're rated at 90k...my @ss if you want my .02, I've rotated these p.o.s.'s atleast 10 times in the past year & 1/2.

True, true, I'm agreeing with you guys but trying to be skeptical at the same time...haha! So, would you suggest this setup I've listed or kmc badlands 18x9 wheels wrapped by 285 nitto terra grapplers?(which is more pricey)

 

Dude honestly, I'll never buy Nittos again...they did me wrong There's gotta be better tires out there for the money ya know?

 

So I've heard, thanks for time and involvement guys, I'll probably still be hardheaded and go with the tsl's for the h3ll of it but who knows...we're talking 4-5 months time anyways, I may even change my determination back to my old desire of fun countrys II's......thanks again
