Nah. Good trolls and dissenting point of views are incredibly valuable even if they can be annoying or caustic at times. Without them the internets are boring.

Wasn't part of the launch (various launches) ascending and descending steep slopes? If this was an issue, surely some media person would have noticed it somewhere...I'd think.

    Wow, that is awesome.

Yea media launch. So far a few members have this issue. Most peps around here never leave pavement, so they will prob never experience his issue on such an incline; which sucks because Tacomas are for of road

A couple of members (Mike330r for one) have done a bit of off road driving with some steep slopes. Posted vids of the driving. None have reported as experiencing the issue. Hopefully it is not a major problem. I hope those who have experienced the low oil issue will continue to keep us updated.

Just an FYI. My light only came on after a few minutes stopped/parked on an incline/decline. Nothing when just asending or desending hills....

Was the truck in the PARK position, or was it just sitting in DRIVE with your foot in the brake? Others should try the same thing

Not to ask a redundant question but, is your oil level at full?

The auto-trans will stall the engine if it rolls too far backwards while in drive. Happened to me several times on steep inclines where you dont make it to the top, stop, and it rolls backwards.

the low oil light would come on in my Outback when parked on steeper inclines.

    engine never stalled, though.

Wait, are we talking about low engine oil level or low engine oil pressure?

Which is inline with theory that oil is having hard time getting to sump. When you park truck at angle oil pump is pumping an oil out from the Pan No2 but nothing is flowing back. Once all oil is pump than oil pump sucks air and low pressure light comes on.
Once that happens engine is running with no oil.
