Computers always break when you need them the most and work the best when the tech comes out to fix it.

    My personal favorite

User: oh hey my computer isn't working right
    Me: *walks over* whats broke?
User: oh wait now its working
Me: yea, part of the test to be a sys admin is the ability to fix computers just by looking at them.

Ever single time I go to fix someones machine in the office this happens. I'm not bitching but sometimes I'd like a challenge vs just walking up and it works, or even worse, virus removal....

    Printers.

I fucking hate working on printers. Setting them up, sure no problem. But as soon as something is wrong that isn't 'low ink' fuck those things. My mother-in-law (Fun fact for the day: you can rearragne mother in law to spell woman hitler without having to drop or add a letter) gave us a really nice HP printer. Worked great until one day the belt came off track. Easy fix right? Fuck no! 4 hours to fix that POS.

    I hate printers also...

We have office Ricohs that have a service contract so that is nice. We are about to terminate another service contract for our other printers. I'll fix those myself. I'm not a fan but I'm sure I can do better than the asshats we pay.

I ended up taking over our printer tech's job at the last company I worked out. It was a $300,000 printer. I'd spend DAYS fixing minor issues. Such a nightmare.

Looking for some advice on a new computer build for my parents. They are looking for a computer to handle video editing. They are starting up a new business and need a good computer to go with it. This is what I have so far.

The only thing I'm really unsure about is the GPU. I don't know if that one is enough or if there's better suited out there. They are trying to stay at about $1200 for the computer.

Your video card is for gaming. You'll want something like a Nvidia Quadro for video editing. Other than that looks like a good build.

Do you have any recommendations? I'm not to familiar with GPU's.

The most expensive quardo you can afford. I don't build many rigs for editing so I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to editing hardware.

So would it be worth dropping to an i5 if necessary to make the budget? I think I should be fine but just wanna make sure. Any brand matter for the gpu?

ATI GPUs suck for Creo and other CAD programs including Solid works. We have pretty good luck with the Quadro K4000 and up to the 4200.

So my damn kid somehow changed my iPhone6 passcode to unlock it. I don't have "find my iphone" enabled so I can't restore it remotely. Anyone got any bright ideas how to fix this issue so I can use it again? This might be my last ditch effort with apple products.

Yeah a hammer was the next option if the itunes restore didn't work. I had to hard reset it and hold the home and sleep button while it was plugged into itunes. Took it like 3 attempts to finally restore. Wife is pissed, lost a ton of pictures. Fuck apple today. I'll probably be a fan boy again in like a week though. I'm a basic white girl at heart.

Welcome to the world of iOS issues. I have all my pics/apps/contacts backed up to google. I can reformat my phone and sign back in, with in the hour my phone is back to exactly where I left it at.

At least it's not a brick anymore.
