So your exhaust can be blocked by snow thus filling the cabin with carbon monoxide before you get there with your sleeping child and get in.

    LOL

Would be super cool if cars had a heat option that would melt all snow around it.

Have you (or anyone that has the Viper feature) ever encountered an issue when remote starting as far as the starter getting stuck in the trying to start phase? It's happened to me twice now maybe within a period of 6 months.

Remote start installs are not that bad, especially in vehicles with canbus. just a few wires to hook up.

my experience has been aftermarket remote starts perform better than factory add-ons anyway.

Since you have experience, can you recommend a good one for both scenarios of self install and third party if too complicated? That's if the complicated one is worth the professional install price. Thanks in advance.

This is what will go into mine:
Viper 4806 remote start. This one is popular with installers too. Its simple and has excellent range. It will require a bypass module. The DBall2 will work great. (you will need to program the DBall2, or any other bypass module, for your specific application. use the XKLoader2) Everything is linked below.

the Toyota version uses your factory smart key or fob... aftermarket you'll have to have a 2nd fob on your keychain. 2 clickers is too bulky IMO...

Shouldn't need the factory clicker after this is installed. Keep in drawer for a backup.

I have a key and a separate lock/unlock remote. The remote start remote (the one referenced above) does the lock/unlock/remote start function so the factory lock/unlock remote is no longer needed.

There are lots of remote starts that have only a single button, and then yes, you will need to carry both. But like you, i don't want to do that either.

drone mobile lets us use the factory fob, the 1 fob that comes with the unit or cellphone app on our camry and rav4 (keyed ignitions) to remote start/lock/unlock.

on my PTS 4runners I just use the factory fob to lock/unlock and the cellphone app to remote start it.

When you say "this is what will go into mine", meaning you are going to install it soon? If so would you be willing to do a write up on how todo it? I have an infant and this is the first winter that I think I will actually need one, but I dont want to pay a shop the cost of installing it. Ya ohio winter's suck.

Hey man, just noticed you're in Orville. I'm in canton, you got your rig yet? If not, when's expected arrival?

    Got my rig?

If your referring to the DIY remote start, ive just started looking and am doing my research and weighing my options at the moment.

If your referring to a "newer" tacoma, wasnt planning on getting one, can dream though, haha.
