    Ford said my car "should be done Friday." Apparently the rear exhaust manifold cracked causing metal to shoot up into the turbo. So they had to replace the exhaust manifold and the turbo.

    Sketchy. The turbo goes to the intake. Small metal shavings could now be inside the cylinders. Id ask for a full inspection on the cylinder walls and whatnot.

    Unless the shaft or bearing were compromised, the impeller and compressor sides should be seperate.

    Metal shavings into bearings in turbo. I doubt it could have messed it up that bad but while its under warranty and at dealer, I wouldn't settle for anything less especially with how they've been treating him lol

    Usually the impeller is chewed up to the point that larger items do not enter the motor.

    I had that happen on one of my turbo cars. Removed all the hard pipes and cleaned them, checked the front mount intercooler, replaced the turbo (excuse to upgrade to a larger unit), the car ran well. I beat the living hell out of it after and it held together just fine. Then again the 4G63 was a strong motor...
