Craziest thing happened last night. Jack Daniels stole my computer. Just walked right off with it while I wasn't looking. I didn't get it back till this morning. Found it on the back porch covered in dew right next to a half empty bottle. Now the bottom of my computer is covered in rust. I better not find out he did anything to embarrass me. I oughta write my Congressman about him. Nah.

It looks like you'll likely get a frame from the looks of the pic next to the cat. My brother in law's truck did the same thing. 05 with like 65k on it. My 05 with 148k last year passed the inspection with flying colors and they undercoated the crap out of it. Of course I had already coated the frame inside and out with KB coatings chassis saver and eastwood internal frame coating. I was actually talking to a coworker this morning about this being nothing new. One of my first trucks was an 84 extracab. Frame was rotted to the point where one of the spring hangers broke off it. In 1992 with just over 100k on it. I'm sure the 33's and constant beatings from an 18 year old had nothing to do with it.... Welded it back up and traded it in on a 87 Turbo regular cab!

I had dropped off my '08 Tacoma TRD Sport 4WD Access cab to have a TRD Sport exhaust put on as I was leaving for No. Carolina for vacation and they were only going to charge less than $175 to install it (I live in MA). Cool. When I got back not only was it ready, they (the dealership) put in both new leaf-spring packs (along with the new TRD Sport exhaust), detailed it, and told me I need a new frame. ?! "What"?! I've been under this truck a ton of times, had it on lifts countless times (my Brother owns an auto body shop) and i've *never* seen (and still can't find) any rot (even near the cats). That was early Summer/late Spring. Now they just called me and told me my frame is in. Before I even call her back (tomorrow) i'm wondering how long they'll have it and what kind of "loaner" vehicle I can get and take jumps with. I mean, i'll responsibly drive whatever they loan me. Heh... When I get it back i'm going to start hosing down the frame in diesel fuel/oil occasionally. It's what we used to do to the 10-wheel Mack dumptrucks I used to drive when I was a kid. Unless they (Toyota) seal it or do something different, it's just going to rust out again. Duh....

Time frame? 3 days - several weeks.

Mileage seems to vary quite a bit by dealer.

If they even try and give me a Prius as a loaner....i'll pick it up and hit people with it in the lobby.

Yeah I know. Seriously I told them I needed another truck to drive in the meantime. I don't well with FWD *anything*....it's just wrong.
