    Hi all,

I'm thinking about getting the OEM tube steps (pt767-35111) for my 2015 access cab. Does anybody know if these stick out far enough to offer protection from door dings in parking lots?

    Thanks for your help..........ted

OEM running boards stick out.... that's why I installed them on my truck. They're really expensive new...so look around for a used set.

Thanks for the replies. The sliders look good. Just running out of time before the weather's too crappy to prep, paint and install.

Get yourself some sliders, you won't regret it, money well spent. If you have to wait a bit just park further away in the empty end of the parking lot until then. Made my own set a couple months ago and much happier with them than my old N-Fab step bars.

sliders are close to the body of the truck.

they are designed for the following offroad circumstances:
    1. Bump rocks away from your body panels in tight spaces
    2. Slide on rocks and prevent damage to body panels
    3. Push your truck away from rocks, trees, etc when making tight turns around rock, trees, etc.

I use my sliders to slide over rocks/logs and to step on (hence the grip tape)!

you install grip tape to use sliders as steps.

if you try to use sliders as steps on a wet morning.. you probably going to break something

Damn straight. That's why running boards are a waste of money. You could just buy a 2x4 to run on, or you know... the sidewalk
