I havent test fitted them yet, I believe the front skid will work fine, the transmission and transfer case skids may be different however. If someone with a '16 is near us we'd work out a deal on skids in return for using their truck for test fitting.

What kind of skids are you talking about? Can anyone make a skid plate to go over the transfer case?

RelentlessFab I'd be interested, I'm located in Carson if you still need a truck for test fitting.

That would be awesome if we could, thanks for the offer! If we could do it in 2-3 weeks from now it would be ideal, waiting on a new metal Brake for my shop and then I can design and then finalize a set on the fly the same day. I could discount you a set in return, or if you were interested in a different product we make I could work out a deal on the desired part

I crawled under a 2 wheel drive and found that there is a ton of space under the cab where the transfer case isn't. BUT that low exhaust pipe still hangs under the cross member and has nothing above it. Just bad form, Toyota

I think the skids from a 2nd Gen will fit BUT the 3rd Gen needs a removable panel to access the oil filter on the lower front of the engine.

new oem skids require you to remove the whole skid plate.

same issue with the 14+ 4runner and the canister oil filter. oem and trd skid plate requires you to remove the whole skid plate.

aftermarkets usually incorporate a door, but then again, your adding failure points.
