    Hi guys.
    I am about to do my oil change for the winter season,just a few weeks away..
    My Tac has 102 thousand kilometers.
    I am a little confused reading this thread..
    Is synthetic recommended or not?
    Remember we do have very cold morning here during winther time,like minus 28 without wind factor.....

    This thread is specifically about the oil requirements for the 2016 Tacoma, your 2007 may have different requirements. Maybe check the 2nd Gen forum.

    I thought they told me or that I read the Toyota oil was a synthetic blend. Anyway, they wanted an extra $50 on top for Mobil1, so I'll go with the free at 5k interval until it's not, then back to my local shop I trust that will do the Mobil1 change for $50. I'm a believer in Mobil1. My last truck was a 4cyl GMC Sonoma I sold with 195k miles and ran like new, oil was still clean when ready for changes, I generally went 5k on it.

    I am a fan of Mobile 1 as well thanks to my father n law. However my uncle (retired mechanic) swears by Royal Purple
