Hi, My TRD OFF Road coems with the locker but when i engage it, it takes different times to engage. one time it took almost 2 minutes.

Is there a consensus of time for engagement, or is mine a Lazy Locker...? :p

I paid 27,500 for my trd off road 09. If I were to do it again, knowing what I know now. I would buy a standard 4x4 put ARBs in, suspension, skids, etc. cause there is very little left of the TRD package on my truck and it's not even a year old. Oh yeah, the seats... I may be switching my seats out for something better. If I had the stock ones, it would be a no brainer.

    Just get it already!

You'll be glad you did. It's better than wishing you did after the fact.

When you goto engage your locker slowly creap forward and turn your wheel side to side. The reason it takes so long is because your gears are trying to get alligned

For me, it was worth it...

I live at 9500 feet in the CO mountains... I fish, camp, hike, off-road, etc...

I have actually used every option that came with my '09 TRD Offroad...

    OFF ROAD
Progressive springs, LSD + Locker + traction control-basicall you get all the options the sport has and some. If you ever take your truck off road these options become priceless. Throw your truck sideways in the dirt with 1wheel power and you'll be fighting to straighten out the truck. Power to 2 wheels-clean and straight exit on slide. Better control in just about every aspect of off roading, rocks, hills, mud, sand, water, earth wind and fire!

Shoot for a resonable target, say 24-26K. depending on your options then just keep saying "no" to the dealers offer no matter what, and eventually you'll hit your target. Be prepared to walk out on them, because another dealer will get what you want. Request to deal with the fleet manager-9/10 you'll get a better deal with him

If you do the math adding an ARB Locker in less money than ditching the chrome bumper, grille, door handles and non scooped hood then buying colour matched stuff with a scooped hood, So I went with the Sport with intentions of putting in a locker if I find I do a lot of wheeling. ARB makes a super solid locker which engages easily every time. Then if you ever want a front locker you already have the compressor installed.

If you like the look of the chrome and could care less about the hood scoop then go for the Offroad for sure!

I vote yes...cause you will have a Electronic locker on the rear...that was the main reason why I bought the truck...you can just add a front locker if you want to crawl later...but the factory locker is the want to go.

I have a '08 non-trd SR5, I have the tow package which includes all the coolers, and bigger battery, and 130 amp alt. It also came with a mechanical limited slip. It rides nice and smooth on the highway too. Basically I got all I needed without the extra cost of the trd. All I really need to do is ditch these horrible Dunlop AT-20's.
