I like how he camps out on the 3rd gen forums just to make dumb comments. He's a super cool dude.

Im very confident that if the 1st/2nd gen had an oil level sensor, being on a steep incline/decline, etc... will give the same results.

Unless Toyota uses multiple sensors placed throughout the oil pan in order to sample oil levels at any possible incline the truck will experience, you will see this light. It's completely normal.

I don't think there was any "alarm." His truck stalled and when your engine is off but key is still engaged, all your lights come on, similar to what @treehugger experienced (I'm assuming).

I'm curious as well. But BlueT's fear mongering isn't going to help.

I'm not sure what you mean by that but despite BlueT's claim's (I didn't read all the way though either so not sure what his current "thoughts" are) there doesn't seem to be a wide spread issue.

I can see why someone would be concerned with this and want answer's but lets keep things in perspective.

BTW, while BlueT tends to get a lot of blame, there are a lot more a-holes out there that need to shut up just as much. This thread is (or was) a legitimate thread and now its turning into a shit show like every other 3rd gen thread. We all need to get a grip.

Missed that part and if its all the same to you, I don't plan on going back to find it :p

I don't think the oil level is an issue. Im sure Toyota only installed 1 sensor in the pan and common sense tells us that this single sensor will not read in spec when the truck is on an incline. As long as the oil pressure is within spec, the oil pump is getting sufficient oil feed and the engine is ok. Yes the truck has to be sitting relatively flat for the level sensor to get an accurate reading but as I pointed out before:

Im sure BlueT had a good point but lets keep it in perspective and have a civil discussion, not "3RD GEN IS CRAP I WAS RIGHT" or "STFU BLUETURD YOU SUCK"

Everyone just take a freaken breather and get a grip on reality.

He is clearly the leader in length, however I believe that just is clear evidence that he had to try too hard to beat me.

    Therefore, I win. @scottalot

All I know is if an actual issue of low oil pressure will be present on inclines/declines I want to find out why, what needs to be done to remedy and move forward. I bought my truck with the sole intention of going off road with out having to worry about what kind of hills I can take safely. Bottom line is if a problem truly exists, we as a whole need to be proactive to solve it!

I climbed under that bitch and snapped these pics. From what I see it is similar to the 15 pan but bigger. By no means is it flat. First pic is from passenger side looking to drivers, second is same view with dipstick, and third is from back to front. Fucking pan is buried in there.....Looks like the low oil sensor sits up pretty high....
