I've never had this setup so I can't speak on it but I can tell you that the stock v6 and 4banger struts are different because of spring rate. You mention upgrading. Does that mean you are looking at new coils to go along with the 5100s? If that's the case and you have the same question about them being different between the two engines then that answer is no. You would choose the coil based on spring rate, not the overall diameter. Now if you upgraded to a 2.0 or 2.5 shock then yes those coils are different.

Thanks for the reply! I do see that there is a lack of information in my question. To be specific, I would like to take off my front 1.5 spacer and put front 5100 in my stock coils and set them to keep the 1.5 lift.
Because stock coils of the 2.7 are not the same as the 4.0, I was wondering if there is any issue that can occur? I am pretty new about all those suspension componnent and I try to figure wich option is the best for my DD use.
    Thanks again :p

I dont see how there's anything that can go wrong. Once again, the spring rates only should be different to accommodate the difference in weight between the two front ends. Of coarse this is just a guess on my part but I would imagine that the same setting would achieve the same lift on both setups. Yes the springs are different because of weight but they also sit at the exact same ride height stock so it makes sense by you only adding shocks you will be lifting both applications the same

Thanks! I guess I was thinking too far haha what you said make a lot of sense and I agree with you.

For now I decided to keep the front as it is right now because it is the rear shocks that need to be changed. I got today 2 adjustable Rancho RS9000XL. I had to return one because the knob to adjust it was already broken in the box... hope it will last on the next one.

I went with those because I can adjust it to be more stiff or smooth. Sometimes I do load my bed pretty much and I think it will help if I set it stiffer and when driving empty I'll keep it smooth. I do hope it will work like I think it will. I not I will be stuck with it for a while haha.

I red on the forum some people having it and liking it, and some who don't. They are not very popular. Most prefer the billies 5100. I don't know why but I felt like the Rancho were the ones that would fit my needs the best.

I question their quality is all. How much do they cost? People on here go with 5100s because Bilstein makes one of the best quality products in the world. It also doesn't hurt that a pair is less then $200.

The dampening adjusters do work as advertised. Fox even makes adjusters that individually adjusts rebound stroke and compression stroke and they make a noticeable difference when turned to full soft vs full stiff. Reason I ask about price of the rachos is a pair of any high end shock is $1000 - $1300 but with price comes quality.

If you are running armor then the 885s will be great. With a stock body they will ride slightly stiff. They are a 590# spring. I swapped my coils from 600# to 650# when I put on front bumper, winch and skid plates and it carried the weight much better but def rides a lil stiffer

I don't know if the price can be significant for you because I am in Canada and everything
Is overpriced here... Paid the pair 300$ but + tax. A pair of Bilstein were a bit under that but not adjustable...

cool, I'm putting on a heavy duty skid plate, and plan to do sliders and that hidden usoffroad winch plate with a winch in the future. i also feel the high rate spring will net me closer to 3" without spacers ect.
    still leaning toward the 885.
    thanks for the input!

I love my tepui. I'll never go back to a regular tent. Mainly what helped with my desicion was seeing them in action first hand a lot of local guys have tepui tents and gave them great reviews. A few guys have run other brands with similar success. I also preferred the designs of the tepui tent as well
