I myself have tried different methods to mount my awning. I did not feel comfortable mounting the awning with the "L" bracket, just didn't feel safe, especially on the freeways. This is the most easiest and stronger method that I came up with. I installed my awning using (7) M6X1.0 1.5 inch long stainless steel bolts, (7) I/2 inch thick spacers, (14) fender washers and (7) self-locking nuts. I installed (5) bolts on the top groove of the awning and (2) bolts to the bottom groove of the awning on to @zscott Prinsu racks. There are two (2) mounts on the lower portion of the Prinsu rack where you can mount 2 bolts for the lower groove of the awning. This supports the awning rail from moving in/out movement. The two grooves on the awning rail for installing the bolts are 2 inches wide apart center to center. Zach's racks mounting grooves are exactly 2 inches apart center to center. Remarkable when I came up with this idea. No need to drill extra holes. Here are some pics. I'll get some betterpics during the day and re-edit.... Zach, your racks are awesome dude!!!!!!!!!

5 mounting locations on top groove of awning rail to Prinsu rack, 2 lower mounting points on lower groove of awning rail to rack. Total of 7 mounting points for a stronger, safer install.

Nice review! Glad it worked out for you that way.

The only issue for access cab owners is that the additional slots for the lower mounts wouldn't fit due to the different curve on the roof and the shorter length. Otherwise @SixthSnail could do it that way.

I agree with you Zach, these access cab owners really have to use some ingenuity to get projects and mods installed. Hope this install above helps some DCSB owners with another way to install.

Maybe you could redesign a few cutouts Zach, that would give these access owners some versatility... Maybe they can just drill a couple hole, just worried about losing strength if drilling more hole in a bad locations is all...

Access cab racks are smaller in length, so all would be required is 3 or 4 mounts on the top groove of the awning and 2 mounts for the bottom groove, so I'm assuming just need to drill (2) 1/4 inch holes for the bottom mounts. Just layout the measurements, check twice, then drill...... If they want a strong and safe install.... My awning is 6 feet, so I used more mounting locations.... But i'm sure that prinsu access cab racks have a steep curvature to them to match the contour of the roof....

That would work to, especially for those that want a wider awning, instead of being limited to a 4 foot wide awning. I also believe all awning rails are basically the same dimensions, different widths is all. I checked other awnings from friends of mine and they were built the same, just a different name on them, ARB, Tepui, Smittybilt, etc.....

About 2 weeks. That being said I have the next two days with no family at home so I am going to be working like a madman at my day job and prinsu to get ahead of the curve a little. So it could be quicker. I have most everything in stock for orders right now it is just finding the time to package them and get them shipped.

Yay, shipping notice in my email. I'm tempted to order the ARB awning and fabricate a bracket for the AC.. but i have the feeling that i'll be lucky enough to get the rack installed, before it gets too cold to work outside.. arthritis sucks.

Installed Rack yesterday! Very happy with the fit and finish. Took a bit of time to install but nothing complicated, trying to drill the holes in the weather-stripping for the spacers took the most time. Thanks Zach!

I finally got around to installing my new lightbar cutout fairing and one of my single row 40" LED bars. I'm going wheeling this weekend so I'll try and get a few shots of the overall setup with some better lighting and background.

I will be in Cali for the next month so if you haven't shipped that final bar yet, would you rather just send it to Cali and I'll take it home?

Just waiting on it to arrive. Ordered it a week or more ago but haven't seen it. Tracking has been updated for a few days so I am starting to worry. I have like 500' feet of it coming.
