That is pretty nice. OEM look to it. Do you mind me asking what you paid for them and also is there an override switch so if the tailgate is down they go off.

I didn't want to use the power lock because all my doors unlock with one press of the remote. I heard of instances where it would wear out prematurely due to the increased number of movements.

    It's a never ending $100-$200 a week thing & still going.
The kit is around $55 plus I think $10 or less for the switch ( I ordered a waterproof switch on Amazon a while back for this purpose ) it is wired in to the powe from the tow harness so it only works when the ignition is on, that way I can't accidently leave them on. No on a tailgate override just a simple push button switch. Here's a better picture in the dark.

The kit is from TrdSparks Toyota, it's a southeast Toyota accessory kit for the Tundra/Tacoma. The switch I used came from Amazon.

Mine prematurely died in the lock position. On vacation. With all the luggage inside. After a million clicks of locking and unlocking on the remote, it unlocked one last time. Now I have the keyed version.

Did you actually wire it directly into the fus box as per the instructions or just stick with wiring directly to the trailer harness?

I wired it to the trailer harness, basically only used the pigtails on the lights and had all I needed. The kit comes with a harness to join the 2 lights together and run up to the driver kick panel but I didn't use it. It's supposed to tap into the interior light wires per the instructions.

That's a nice looking kit! I like how it looks like it came factory equipped with the lights. Do you have any pics of it lit up in the dark?

Oops nvm, I was a page behind lol. I see you have posted a night shot. Looks good, the LED strips put out a little too much light for my liking.

Thanks, it's not that bright but bright at the same time. I got tired of not having a light in the bed to see and didn't want the strips under the rails or caps. Plus I like the oem look of it. If I can quit spending money on this kind of stuff I'm going to hit you up for a mirror kit.

I hear yah, my truck I have to hit the remote 2x to unlock passenger doors so I tied the tailgate into that second for the fact that it would stay locked unless I need/want access. Not sure about wearing out the remote might go thru more batteries over time I guess.

To each their own. I kinda like that peeps don't know it's locked by looking, it annoys the wife though just because she forgets and thinks she broke the tailgate.
