I got a 95 3.4 automatic 4x4. I want a deep mean sound. I was looking at a cherry bomb pro exhaust. But not sure how that will sound. Any other exhaust mufflers???

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Lots of choices. If you are considering a "cherry bomb" then you want extreme sound, not a factory sound. Correct?

Magnaflow is a solid choice but maybe not extreme enough?

    Flowmaster or Borla?

    MBRP, Gibson, Banks?

    JPA, aFp, RBP?

    And many more.

Or just get a custom job? They rock!

    Custom Borla ftw.
Wear headphones or use external speakers to hear it properly. Very nice deep grumble to it. This is with a resonator though. And a magnaflow high flow cat. So if you want to be heard, probly go without resonator.

What would be a deep rumbling sound but nothing real loud and raspy like a cherry bomb pro?

Tellin ya, borla yo!!:) With a resonator. That's bout it. With the exception of the trd cat back. Going mild steel will help. Stainless gives it that "tingy" sound a lil bit. There was a a guy who did a magnaflow with mbrp resonator and it sounded nice too. Any other muffler (that I've listened to) sounded like crap imho. So borla or magnaflow, vibrant ultra quiet/mbrp resonator would be your best bet. The resonator will help a TON on drone and raspiness. But it does quiet it down quite a bit. But it's perfect for me. Just loud enough for me to hear it when I get on it. And grumble at lower speeds. Mines pretty silent at idle. Highway speeds are pretty quiet too. Certainly not obnoxious or screaming hey look at me! Nice and clean. Also depends on where you dump it as well.

Did you listen to my sound clip?

Save your money, without two more cylinders and a couple thousand more cc's of displacement you won't get the grunt you are looking for.

Borla 40664 Turbo XL Center/Offset Universal Performance Muffler https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CIK9KG/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_SrCkwb0BTPMT8

    With this:
    Vibrant 1140 2.25" Ultra Quiet Resonator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000E3VHW8/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_etCkwbX31GJ7J

It'll probably be just fine without a resonator. I really don't know. But there may be a chance of raspiness and drone without. Wished I could take it off to see. But borla already has a really sweet design and keeps it's tone regardless. Again depends on where you're dumping it and probably if stainless piping if you're going custom all the way.

Here is the sound clip compilation thread
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/sound-clip-compilation-thread.14558/

More vids of mine including drive by and in cab here:

So listen till your ears are bleeding, and decide for yourself;) Again like a few others have said, you aren't gonna get that v8 sound you're looking for. So your best bet is to go with the tone you like, and use a resonator to clean it up.

Edit: oh and don't forget to use headphones or external speaker. Preferably surround with a sub. Phones do NOT give exhaust sound clips justice.

Sweeeeeeet. You're gonna love it man.:D
If in fact you stick with that plan, be sure to let me know. Add it to that compilation thread. I wanna hear it without the resonator. I had my system installed professionally by a sweet performance shop. Cost me more than I'd like to say, but really happy with it. I got the resonator because I figured with removing the oem cats x2, with a magnaflow high flow cat, was afraid it'd be way too loud. And it came out almost too quiet for my liking. But alas I just purchased the parts and had them install it all so I kinda wished I hadn't had the resonator installed at the same time. And if it turned out to be too loud, it woulda been easier to go back and add it in. It's still doable, but would cost too much to remove them add in again if I didn't like it. Ha. So I'm stuck with what I got. But I love it.

Are you adding this to your current oem system? Or replacing the cat as well?

Installed a Magnaflow SS cat back exhaust system on my 3.4 V6. In combination with my decklid mod, it has a decent rumble at idle and at low throttle conditions. Midrange sounds silly – like a kid trying to play with the big boys. WFO is so-so. Pulling a load down the highway is obnoxious.

Sound is subjective – to you and everyone around you.
