My plan is, at some point, to take some of the diamond plate aluminum sheet stock I have and make a tailgate re-enforcement. A few years ago, I lucked on to several sheets of 1/4"X2'X5' alum diamond plate. Down to 2 pieces left. Plan is to sandblast it to knock down the shine, then attach it to the inside of the tailgate.

Just noticed what looks like an oil slick under your truck. Do you have a Norton or Triumph? I am sure it could not be your Toyota. Since you are Alaskan it would probably be impolite to suggest you blew a seal.

Heard of a test drive before you buy? Most dealerships allow you to do it now a days.

You know with Nortons, the good news about having oil leaking is at least you know there is still some oil in it left.

Yep....my daily driver in college was a Matchless (twin of AJS and related to Norton) which was older than me. Magneto ignition and advance/retard timing lever on the handle bar. Forget to retard before kickstarting and it would throw you off viciously. Never had to change the oil, just add a pint or two a week.

I think the site says 304 and 334 BHP. So 264 WHP is about 13 % loss, not too shabby. As far as getting the V8 Tundra, yeah I see the point but a Tacoma with over 300 HP does have a lower weight to power ratio than the Tundra stock, plus the offroad ability. I would probably rather have the 325 HP Tacoma unless I had to tow something too big or needed to haul the family as a primary vehicle.

@AgentRS, I've been paying close attention to my rear window every morning since the colder weather has set in and I'll be damned if it isn't fogged every single morning. Ive tried warming the truck up with the front defrost on, but it doesn't seem to touch the rear. I guess I just never noticed it before.
