Florida B.S. Thread

Only beach away from my Florida "Res" I would venture back too; Popham Beach,Maine......BUT it will soon be blanketed with SNOW.

 

Getting close between these two agencies, Have to take a poly for one, and then a CVSA for another.

 

From what I read $250ish, I got 16 quarts of WS for $120 or so. The 4 leftover quarts will be saved for my truck when it needs it.

We're hoping to move to NC in the near future. Love it there.

Yeah she's got a long commute, luckily it's a Toyota and will last forever. She says she intends to drive it until it dies.

 

so im not real good with CB radios, I want to ditch my half assed radio shack setup and get something better. thinkin about gettin this Cobra and of course a 4' black firestik. What do you guys think about this CB?

^i have a cobra29lx and really like it. I can change the colors (Orange to match int light) and has built in swr meter. I like the 25 too. Much smaller

Take a look at the Cobra 75. Small, good price and no useless extra bells and whistles.

Cobra 75 is what I have and it works well plus you don't the box taking up room I told @Alfuh the same thing awhile back

 

Yeah I got the 29 as a christmas gift a few years back. I gotta say other than the bulkiness it's pretty good. some of the bells and whistles actually come out pretty handy believe it or not. i was quite surprised. but some of the other guys using their hand helds work really good..My 29 sits on the passenger side and doesnt bother me nor have i ever heard anyone say it bothers them, not like i care anyway. if it bothers them they can walk or sit in the back. It's gas, grass or ass if the CB bothers ya GTFO

 

If they offer grass then they ride in the back anyway for possesion and intent to sell lol

 

This is what I am using with a 6ft firestik. Make sure you go with 18ft RG8X coax cable which will give you better reception. Also want to ground the antenna. Last meet at Croom I was in the front of the convoy and could communicate loud and clear with Lee who was in the back of about 15 trucks.

The 520 fits nicely in the spare change holder to the lower right of the steering wheel with some modification as well.

I still need mount mine and run my coax, lately I just run it through the rear sliding window. It would be nice to have it all cleaned up

 

@Alfuh don't forget to grab a good SWR meter if you don't have one.
