Several weeks or months to get the frame. The job itself takes 2/3 days at the most.

I dont think a dealer would look there when trading it in. I just traded in a 2012 Equinox for my Tacoma a couple months ago and they checked the paint, windshield, and interior... that was it. If they get up under there and inspect it for a trade in.... that would be strange I think. In fact every vehicle I have ever traded in they never looked under it.

Gas tank side was worse, harder to photograph though.

after I posted this I realize I live in the South and also only ever traded in sports cars or SUVs. I would imagine up north or near an ocean they would probably inspect under the vehicle....

Especially when Tacos are known to have frame rust issues. We know it. The dealer knows it. I am sure they check the frame on every taco coming in for trade.

Holy tap-dancing Christ Jethro. I wouldn't back that thing out of my driveway let alone take it on a public road. One good Massachusetts pot-hole and that thing would be toast (it can't be any better up in NH). Please tell me that's an old pic and that's been fixed or replaced sinced that pic was taken. Anywho...I dropped off my Taco 4X4 TRD Sport Access-Cab today to a dealership here in Central Ma. to have the frame swapped out. One of the techs said they now do them so often they have one tech that can do it in 12 hrs. ?! That i'd like to see. But oddly comforting knowing he's done so many he most likely (hopefully) knows how to do it correctly by now. They loaned me a new RAV4 AWD to drive (free of course...unlimited miles) in the meantime. I hate sitting so low and the steering has this weird "play" in it. It only has 750 miles on it (it's a 2015) so it must be me. I'm just glad i'm getting it done without any hassle. I'll keep everyone posted as you know when I get it back the first weird noise or rattle i'm going all Joan Crawford on their ass. The guy that took the key from me said it was the cleanest used truck he's ever seen...heh.....I told him to add it to my paperwork.

She's right. New Tacoma's aren't fixed of the rust issue yet, so far as we can tell.

Ok Toyota failed the frame today. 2-3 month wait time for frame and parts. While it was there they did the spiral cable and seat belt recall. Not happy though...On way home I noticed my steering wheel alignment is out of wack to the right. Also after they did the seatbelt recall my driver side access cab door doesnt want to open. It will but I have to mess with it. I was feeling great about the whole frame swap thing untill now. First time my truck seen a lift in 10 years and problems. I guess saturday instead of hunting,I'll be back up there getting them to make it rite.

Here is a pic I took of a double cab frame swap being done at the dealer today...
Also of the hole in my frame that they made much larger
