agreed. I haven't had a speeding ticket since I got rid of the Evo X. I have a manual 2013 M3 (last year for the v8) for the weekend and I can feel the itch coming back.

Anyways back on topic. Congrats on your purchase OP!

I regret buying the I-4 in the power sense. Still have my 2005 and it been pokey since day one, but bullet proof as hell.

Maybe because it was a lower price, serves his needs, sure its only lightly more fuel efficient than the V6 but its also one of the most reliable and easiest to maintain motors you can buy in any vehicle today!

The SR interior looks great...much less "base" looking than previous 2nd gen

and for the record I love the 2.7L Taco! I had a 2009 Access cab 4x4 with the 5 speed and I loved it! Sure the V6 is more cabable for towing and hauling a heavy load in the double cab but the 4 banger makes for a great commuting truck that can still haul a decent amount of stuff, tow a couple thousand pounds with little stress and be as capable off road as most stock Tacomas! And that motor is so simple and easy to maintain! Only 4 spark plugs that last for ever! Timing chain!= low cost of ownership. Id buy another one

I wouldn't, and you obviously never tried pulling a 1,200lb trailer through the Rockies with it either. Its basically a light work/commuter truck. But I don't wanna ding my own current ride. Its been super reliable giving me 10 years of service and 290k miles. I prob have more experience with the I-4 than most anybody else on this forum

The OP is wise, going with the tried-and-true I4, vs. going with the unproven and problematic 3.5L V6.

Hope there is some sarcasm there. I jumped on first 2TR-FE and have no regrets as far as reliability. I wouldnt say the 3.5 is problematic

Because all the 2016s have the same GVW and OPs model is about the lightest you can get which means it has the highest payload capacity. I will be getting the I-4 too, not interested in the van motor.

I can't justify spending $30k+ on a midsize truck. If I was in the market for something bigger than my current daily driver/light toy hauler needs I would go full size over the V6 taco.
