The dealers make money still even if they sold to you at invoice right now. They make money off of Dealer hold back about $700-$800 on the TRD offroad and they also make money off of other fees (TDA) and dealer added options. But why would they want to sell to you for $500 or $1,000 profit when they could sell to someone else for 2 or $3,000 profit. Be nice and come in showing you've done your research. Shop around for a dealer who is willing to negotiate and give you competitive pricing. If you don't like what this salesman is telling you try emailing the general manager or go elsewhere.

I just went to a dealer last week about the Costco auto buying program, and showed him my Costco Card as confirmation, and then he tells me that there's no price discount at the moment for even Costco Members since the Tacoma is so new.... Haha. Some perk, regardless, he wasn't going to budge off MSRP, Even though I got $1200 off MSRP I received a quote for the exact same model from a dealer up in Nor. California. Needless to say, I walked out, and I am not dealing with paying MSRP on a vehicle.

Currently right now, ill either be buying an TRD OR AC M/T from Canada or I will be buying a Gen 2 TRD OR AC M/T.

The Costco program does not work that way. You must use the Costco website then input the vehicle u want and they will email you a discount code and the dealer will contact you from there.

I did do all that, trust me. Like I said, the dealers in Southern California aren't doing any Costco deals on 16' Tacoma's. I would like someone to chime in who has to prove me wrong, and what dealership you went to.

There is one. But the discount is slim. Better off the $500 above invoice at Pasadena but they charge TDA. If u wanna fly to nor cal there are better options

well you proved me wrong, but basically the discounts are slim. Nothing like what others on the forums in other states are getting. Somehow we California's (especially so. cal) always get shafted on paying the most for everything, fun fun.

California is a f***ing ripoff. I lived in Hermosa beach for 10 years. The taxes, the crowds and traffic, the pollution and cost of living...then on top of that half the time the weather is cold and cloudy. I got the hell out of there and never looked back. Love living in AZ. If I want to go to the beach it's a cheap/short flight or 5 hour drive to whales vagina.

As far as Costco goes, if Costco referred you to a dealer and the dealer did not honor the pricing I hope you reported it back to costco.

Thats my fear. I get to Arizona or Northern Cali and they play games and I'm stuck without a ride back.

Yea if they know you came out all the way from Cali they know they got you by the short n' curlies. Maybe come out and stay for the weekend. Get a cheap hotel and shop around. There are 4 or 5 toyota dealers within a 30 to 45 minute drive of each other in the phx area. Just manage your time. Some dealers want to sit you down and spend 3 hours haggling with you

Also I'd add if you're somewhat flexible on the truck you want, it will give you a better chance at landing a deal . If you're dead set on a certain config AND color then you might have a hard time finding one and the demand for them could make it hard to get dealer to deal. For instance in az the TRD offroad 4x4 is in high demand and there are not many out here. But if you're cool with a 2wd sport you're probably in a good position

so, for the record, i haven't gone through Costco just yet. I did mention that I would be to the people I've been dealing with, thinking they'd match the price. I assume that would be easier/ better for them, than paying Costco a finder's fee.

Costco Members are not charged anything except membership which you already pay for if you're a member. Not sure what you mean by "finders fee"

My bro took Uber to the dealership and they played all types of games with him (bait and switch etc etc etc). We ended up getting quite a bit of money back after reporting them to an agency; fairly quickly I might add.
