What up fellas, need some help with my new setup. I'm currently running OME 885x's and bilstein 5100's in the front and have them maxxed out, nothing in the rear at the moment. I just got BFG AT KO2's 285/70/17. When I hit inclines with any speed I'm rubbing upfront now. I'm trying to keep my fenders stock so I'm thinking of either stepping up the shocks/springs to a beefier set (and would go all around this time), or adding some kind of lift kit to raise it up another couple of inches. I like the way the truck rides now so if I could get away with keeping my current setup in the front that'd be best. I'm not too worried about budget though, I'd rather have quality parts and a premium ride. Any suggestions?

What do you mean you have them "maxxed out"?

5100's and 885's "maxed out" and you want to "raise it up a couple inches"?? o_O

My guess is you need UCA's to fix your alignment and possibly move your tires away from your frame/cab mount/fenders.

I adjusted my LCA's to clear my frame/cab mount and fixed my alignment with my SPC UCA's. Worked out pretty damn good.

Alright well I love my tires and I gotta be able to get my bikes out to the desert, so I'll spend what I gotta spend. I think the bilsteins at their highest setting ("maxxed out") give me a 2.25" lift, so I'm thinking I need another 2" at least. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? I'm F'ing terrible at searching this site for this kinda of info so sorry for that and thanks for the help. Or fuck it, would it be easier to just modify the fenders? I just don't want it to look like a full on desert truck, it's my daily driver and I like it looking clean.

You should not even have your Bilsteins over .85 on an 885 coil.

Well chit it road great until I put the 285's on it. So what am I looking at here, king 2.0s all around and some total chaos UCAs? Would that even do it or would I still need to trim?

You should get close to 2.5" of lift with 885 coils on those 5100's with them at the bottom setting, I imagine it is pretty much at full extension and rides terrible with them set the way you have it. As far at the tires rubbing, pretty much everyone that puts 285's on has to trim a little plastic at the bottom of the flares to prevent rubbing. Are you still on stock wheels? 285's will usually rub the upper control arm with stock offset wheel also.

No they actually ride really well, handles great. I only rub when I hit a steep incline. Fuck it I'll roll with new UCAs and bushwhacker flared fenders. Thanks for the help fellas, I appreciate it.

Update. So I installed Pro Comp UCAs, bushwhacker fender flares, deaver mini leaf pack, and extended Billsteins in the rear. I shaved down some of the front fender flares, but now I'm rubbing worse than I did before. My tires are literally hitting part of the engine block when I make steep turns, way worse than before. I think lifting my rear 2"s brought my front lift down, so all that work I did didn't help at all. I'm thinking I either need to replace the OME coils/Billsteins 5100s in the front to some kind of King, Fox, or Pro Comp 3" shock, bite the bullet and get smaller tires than 285/70/17s, or do some other kind of body lift to get the front up another couple inches. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated fellas... Thanks

That's your cab mount. You need to trim it. Search for "Cab Mount Chop", and you'll see what others have done.

Thanks for the quick response man, really appreciate it. Do you think Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers will also help?

I don't think those will help. With the size tire, and lift you have, the cab mount chop is about all you can do, other than dropping a size tire.
