Return the truck to normal operation, meaning without the unknown tracking device.

I didn't mean return the truck or tracking device... LOL

I agree, steelhd. If I had not been informed of it's presence, I wouldn't return it. If I had been informed of it's presence, I wouldn't have bought the truck. If they want it back bad enough they can, "come and take it". Gotta possess proof of ownership first though. I would think, if I bought the truck, I bought the spy device. Plus they would be required to explain why they were spying. Dealer would have some splainin to do. I would think if the dealer had not informed the truck buyer of the device's presence, it would be a violation similar to that of an illegal phone recording device. That kind of technology concerns me. Now, where can I buy a tinfoil hat? I want a real good one. Maybe two. :D

So, you guys know that your smart phones all have GPS trackers in them too, right? That little setting 'location based services' means 'yes, please track my every movement.
Im just putting this out there because so many guys are worried about black helicopters but fail to realize that cell phones, satellite radio receivers and even some RFID chips can be tracked....

I know, evilcorvette. I never leave my location turned on on my phone. Still, if your battery is in your phone, it pings from tower to tower. Your phone is very easily tracked. I think in order for this information to be used for anything beside marketing purposes, a warrant is required. Not that obtaining a warrant is usually any big problem. I don't participate in illegal activities, but it still concerns me.

I wonder what would happen if you turned "This Side Up" instead of "This Side Down"?

The government is going to track you one way or another. This device is not the government. The is some random person or company that can now track you.

I don't think the OP was so much worried about someone Tracking him but more about that it was wired into the ignition that someone could shut off.

Im in the same boat. I hate knowing that your phone can log data for marketers or data collection purposes. I never consider my phone truly safe from location based tracking. When the day comes that I finally do go on a murderous rampage, Ill need a burner flip phone from Walmart so I can call my wife and tell her where to leave fresh underwear and socks for me.

Until then, I just consider it one of the downsides of technology.

I leave my gps on my phone on because I have previously lost my phone and when I tried to locate my phone my gps was off. For this very reason I leave my gps on. Now when I lose my phone again, Ill be able to locate it.

None yet. Vehicle on order. Due around Halloween 2016
A phone kept in a lead lined box is shielded I'd think. Take it out and use it. Put it back. Relocate..
