Yeah, I figured I would get the price on the truck itself all sorted out before even asking them about in-house financing. I'm not factoring the (possible) rebate into my buying decision, so worst case scenario I use the financing I already lined up.

It's free money. Even if their rate isn't that great it will still save you some money. Then use your credit union check to pay off Toyota. I wouldn't give up the rebate just over percentage differences. You still come out on top

Ahh, I see what you're saying. I hadn't thought of that.

You don't save quite as much but the difference is minimal. When they send the first bill request payoff

Makes sense. I guess it's considered a refinance then. Looks to be the same rate though.

So, would the financing be arranged when the order and deposit is placed, or later on in the process?

same boat but different way to get at it.

I usually do 72m @ x.xx% in this case it was 3.09%. the months and % is mute since I pay more each month and usually faster than the loan duration. if you work it out and pay extra and within 3-4 years, the interest rate actually will drop down in the 1-2% range since your not paying all that interest. remember simple interest is your friend (since interest is based on your balance and not over the loan term). and since you don't have early payoff penalty it works, you just have to do the numbers to get where you want.

also doing 72m @ x.xx% give you a cushion for when you need to skip payments for emergencies. hell right now I have over $300 credit on my electric & gas bill that during the winter/summer the big spikes are evened out. gas for heat in the winter and electric for a/c.

its all how you manage the numbers.

If you're a USAA member, call their car buying service. They do TrueCar pricing too. I don't know about what loan terms they can offer because I've only used them for my home loan.

If not, just be up front with your salesman. Explain it to them, and their finance manager may even talk to you up front. You might even get a more favorable rate if they want to compete with your lender.

    Regardless, good luck!

So I'm wondering, will my factory options (step rails, rubber bed mat, all weather for mats) be installed at the factory or dealership?

I've been told many of the "factory" options are actually installed at port. I could be misinformed.

Correct. Some ports, such as Gulf States, also make regional builds like th TSS and Texas Edition versions.

If you're region only builds so many of a certain model, is that it for that model year? Or would they build more if there is demand for more. Just curious how that works.
