Obviously brighter and whiter than stock. High quality bulb. For $11 I'm sold on it (Amazon). Note this was taken in a lighted garage. I'll try to get a night shot later.

Thanks. I've always wanted to replace mine with LED, but didn't want to use overseas garbage in my electrical system. Philips, I trust.

I'm curious about the other 6k philips on Amazon. Looked like a similar bulb but had an opaque cover on it. I figured the clear would be brighter.

Curious to see the other night shots. I currently have something like this mounted in there. It's pretty damn bright, and works, but I want something of a little higher quality.

I'll try to get some dome light night shots tonight. Dude you gotta try the sylvania 194 in the maps. Brightest map I've ever seen! I swear it's brighter than the 60 watt ceiling bulb in my living room. Not as widespread, obviously, but lights up your lap like nothing else. I saw them at Walmart yesterday for $7. I've got one in the drivers side. And I put a red incandescent 194 in the passenger map light (it was like $4 for two). It's really nice when you wanna light the cab at night but don't want a blinding light. Plenty light to see what you need but won't affect your eyes on the road.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
I placed an order for LED's to replace the Dome light as well as the two Map lights. They won't arrive here till Tuesday of next week.

I ordered from this place https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/led-vehicle-replacement-bulbs/vehicle/----/---/

I've ordered from them in the past, very good quality LED's, still have them installed and working good, plus the service is fast and excellent.

EDIT: Well my LED's arrived in the mail today.

Swapped the original bulbs in the Dome and Map lights with the new LED's and looks great!

Don't know why I waited so long, should have done this a long time ago (just in case there's anyone out there contemplating on doing this (very easy) mod-don't think about it just do it!..believe me you won't regret it.) gives the interior a whole new brighter look.

Does anyone make a map like that will alternate between white and red each time it is pressed? That would be pretty sweet for night use

So I'm curious about this since I just did the mod. Reading further into switching to leds lots of people are saying a resistor is needed. My dome light does kind of go from dim to super bright when I first open my door. Wondering if this has anything to do with having to much power ran through the led..

The dome light has a dimming feature on it when turning it on/of (not sure how far back this goes in years). It's normal. The dome LEDs may not dim on and off as smoothly as the incandescent festoon, but it's fine in my truck (it's more like five steps of increased brightness instead of constant smooth dimming). The Philips and Osram/Sylvania dome and map lights don't need resistors (in recent years of trucks- not sure about older trucks).

I think where the resistors are needed is when people start swapping the turn signals, parking/tail lights. But there are some bulbs that don't require resistors when installed on newer vehicles. I don't think it's as simple as "2011+ don't need resistors", for example. But in the cab you should be safe, especially with the Philips and sylvania in newer trucks.

I've also read that some people have blown fuses, etc, even when changing the cab bulbs. I think this is primarily in older trucks and with off brand bulbs.

That's what I was kind of thinking. Mine does the same thing. It's starts to brighten in like 5 stages so to speak.
