Lol I love the guy at the end trying to explain why drum brakes are better for off road, maybe they should put drums on the front too? Haha does he not realize its the opposite? Sand falls out of discs and gets stuck in drums not the other way around.

Pretty sure that is the play area at Miller Motorsports Park....if so, I rode up that in an 80 series with Cruiser Dan's wife driving about 6 weeks ago at Cruiser Fest. Not as steep as it looks, but a pretty good hill. They were doing "races" around the course on Saturday of Cruiser Fest...was a hoot!

Doesn't look much steeper or less traction then many hills in San Francisco.

My old 93 4 banger manual would do that no problem. I did stuff like that on the old tank training course at Camp Roberts in the Central Coast. 1st low, just go. Softer dirt, too.

I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam, but what exactly does crawl control do? How is it different than putting the truck in low range? Does it activate some type of locker that normal 4WD doesn't? Why does it lurch forward? Is that by design? Does it work with auto and MT?

LOL this reminded me of another feat of extreme anal pucker. And this has nothing to do the Moab, Hell Revenge, or the like. It was far, far worse. When I was 16, e-brake hill starts in SF from a dead stop uphill on some steep-ass mother fucker in a front-wheel drive 78 VW Dasher manual 4-door hatchback with 4 passengers and cars behind me in stopped traffic. It may or may not have been on top cable car tracks, too. This was a scenario that taught me a lot very quickly. And no one died and no metal was bent.

Well now you've gone and forced me to do it: There are currently 17 threads discussing crawl control in the third gen forum, and there is a googler at your fingertips.
