My son wanted to become a tech untill I threatened bodily harm to him.
I really think he respects what I do and how I do it.
He has a little talent too.
Here is his Sunday driver. Supercharged Monte Carlo built by him. I'm very proud of him with what he has done in his life and smart enough in the head not to follow in my footsteps.

Nice Monte your son has there Mike!
Come on now Mike, whatever pays the bills. I must have been out of my mind to work in a foundry, not a normal foundry but sort of a super foundry, everything was BIG and heavy plus it was involved with pouring iron, one of the dirtiest foundries there is.
Yea; I wasn't too smart back then either but couldn't get in to Mack Motors or PP&L, my first two choices. Bethlehem Steel was OK, but Mack and PP&L would have been much better. I survived!

    Afternoon all:
    Another :woot: for Annie!

Just got back from hunting, saw another deer but couldn't tell what it was, a bear cub, and some turkeys. Nice to at least see some critters.

Anyone here know anyone in Texas? They're about to get SLAMMED by rain from Patricia. I reached out to my son + his family in San Antonio - they're up on a hill so flooding is not an issue, but they're talking 15 inches of rain in parts of the state so I'm concerned about them anyway.

:woot: one less bugger to trash my back yard!!! I'd prefer they just move, but :notsure:

:sorry: hope you find one soon

 Know that feeling after what happened here the beginning of the month. That's a lot of rain and some places already got slammed the last few days.

 it's only property damage with no loss of life.

Hoping that your relatives in Texas stay safe, that's a lot of rain.
Haven't heard from Bob in awhile, they could sure use some of that rain to help them out.

OH! I also met a 91 year old guy who was out hunting today! He came in with a atv and only had to walk about 50 yds. to his stand, but he was out there!

Also hearing rumors about "moose", looks like it may have been self inflicted. :(
If true, that's at least 13 people that I personally knew who have chosen to terminate their own life. :(:(
It just seems strange to have known that many, maybe a few but not double digit.

Sold my tall chest today. Leaving Monday. Trying to get the stuff in the other boxes in some sort of order... Found stuff and thought I lost.. Lol

I got a reply from San Antonio - looks like just a lot of rain there, they're not overly concerned about it. Thank goodness. But their water heater went out!

91 year old hunter - pretty cool. I hope I can be active at that age, assuming I make it that far...

My BIL got back to me. They're in Houston area. He doesn't expect any issues. Said the worst of should be on them this evening or Sunday morning. Only concern was the "weinie dog" cause he has a rough time with his short legs in any more than an inch or so of water.
91 ... Very cool, more power to him.

Sorry about your friend; does seem like a lot. :(

Anyone recall what area "Tex" is from down there? @gliderpilot

Oh, Kristi and I passed as I was heading out and she was coming home from work late ... her Mom told her they had a small tornado back there in Hinton, IA (north of Suoix City); lifted the roof off her brother's house and sat it back down cockeyed.

    Good morning folks.

Yes, it's raining here in central Texas and will continue throughout the day. I've gotten 2 inches since midnight. The good part is it's a steady rain .... not a turd floater. Heaviest rain was 12:30 this morning at 3.6 inches per hour. Right now, more like 0.4 inches per hour. I can live with that .... need all the HUGE cracks in my 2 acres closed up -- lots of opportunities to break an ankle.

I asked about you, and tagged you, in my post above 1 min before you posted; the phrase is one I picked up sometime growing up I guess. Means when someone is talking about you when you're not present. :notsure:

    I'll bring my post down:

Be careful to make "time" without the Spouse  to "hide/store" your tools......If you remember I went from a 24' van down to a 5x8' trailer and Con went a "little nuts" seeing 1/2 the trailer taken up by RED :p. That is when I decided my brother & son would inherit a small collection including boxes.....Plus the essential SHOP tools that stayed north  I still need to find a bench grinder and sawz-all on sale BUT my torching and welding will have to be out sourced..............I take that as an excuse to use the "fishing tools" more often:yay:

    Morning all:
Good to hear that Texas isn't getting the brunt of the storm.
"ears itching"--- always hear "were your ears ringing" when people were talking about you! Must be local dialect! :)
