I'd check for vacuum leaks too on all the emission stuff to the intake after you look at sensors. I've had high idle due to air leaks. You usually throw a cel for ignition coil spark stuff. At least whenever I had ignition problems. Check pcv and egr(if you have egr). Just a few things to look at that make the truck act weird

Finally got my limit strap clevis mounts welded on. Now just need to get the straps hooked up. I got some straps a while back and after mocking them up I think they are too long. Gonna look more into it this week. Also might have to tie back the brake line if it rubs the strap. Not sure if it will.

High idle can be a vacuum leak.

Do you think it could be a bad O2 since he's been running dirty?

Edit: never mind I saw what the other guy said about the vacume lines.

I think the bracket is from either orw or sdhq. My straps are part of an old kit wheelers used to sell for a tundra. The straps are made by diest and are supposed to bolt to the frame in a threaded available hole early tundras have. My truck doesn't have that hole so I had to get the mount (which I prefer anyways). The straps are too long because they aren't supposed to used the clevis. I really like them though because they are red :D

Hi there, I'm a newbie to tacomas but I just got an'04 double cab. The first thing I've done besides trying to fix all the things the po left undone is to drill out the stops on the seats so they lay all the way back. I took out the rear seats and made a rack in front of the rear window for bedding so we can lay the seats down and pull out the bedding for camping. I put a bag in front of the seat for my feet. It's pretty comfy and dry and sets up in about 5 minutes. In the morning another 5 min to put things away. No more wet tents or cold ground

I think he is just having high idle stuff with a bit of low compression. I believe it was another guy with the gas mileage stuff. Bad thread to keep track of this. An easy way to check o2 is use an odb reader and see if voltage oscillates between .1 and .9

Cool idea pulling the rear seat and such. I still need the back seat for people to sit or I would have pulled mine too...

So yer gonna use the sway bar mount at the bottom right? I'm still thinking about how to connect the bottom of the strap. Just a strait bolt up I guess.

Yea I'm using the sway bar mount. Ditch your sway bar and use the mount. I've also seen people mount the bottom to the shock mount. You could probably still attach the strap to the sway bar mount even with sway bar in place is there's enough thread.
