Do 3rd gens have yellow gas caps? (able to run off E85)

    If not:

Does converting it void the warranty?

And while we're at it lets take a poll. If E85 was readily available to you and the Tacoma was warrantied from the factory to run E85, would you?

In the brz/frs you need to flash the ecu to optimize the gains, they are much faster on e85. I read SARD in Japan has cracked Lexus 3.5 ECU's, really hoping we get a legit tuning option. Even if they factory tuned this engine for low end torque it's leaving a bunch of power on the table.

Owners manual (and the gas cap itself) specifically say don't use E85

The big unknown is what is the gain from doing so (power). We know the e85 is about 14% cheaper, but it also provides ~28% less fuel economy. So it's not a great economic incentive.

e85 has great racer applications. Love the smell of 'French fries' exhaust at F1 street racing. It's great for high compression or high boost street legal vehicles too.

But I'm not seeing its value in the average persons Tacoma.
