So I was certain that I had a rattle coming from either the window or from somewhere within the front passenger door panel on my '14 DCSB.

I tried filling the weather stripping chanel on the door with WD-40 to no avail. I removed the door panel, making sure all of the bolts/screws were tight and nothing was loose ... this didn't fix anything. Finally, with the door panel off, I had my brother drive my truck while I sat in the passenger seat so I could listen and pinpoint where the noise was coming from. Lo and behold, the rattle was coming from the center armrest console from items bumping each other or bumping the inside of the console ... even though I had everything enclosed in a cloth rag to avoid this exact thing. I removed everything from my armrest console and the mysterious door rattle has vanished. I have no idea why it sounded like the rattle was coming from the door, but just wanted to share with you guys in case you experience this as well.

Good tip and glad you found the source. I've learned this the hard way too. My last car was a rattle trap and I could have sworn that there was something loose in the headliner which turned out to be a kick panel under the dash. Eyes don't just play tricks on you, ears will too!

Have just developed a similiar rattle after a trip. Never thought it might be coming from the center console. Thanks for the info.

Mine rattles from the back door or window. I can't seem to find the exact place it's coming from but definitely from the back seat behind passenger. Sounds like it may be coming from inside the door or maybe the bed of the truck. It's driving me nuts! Any suggestions would help! Thanks!

If you are standing outside of your truck, do you hear the rattle when you close the rear door? If so then the rattle might be the plastic splash guard found inside of your rear fender well. I put some stick-on foam strip insulation between the splash guard and the actual bed of the truck and the rattle is fixed.

Yes!!! When I shut the rear door, go over any little bump or crack in the road!
I am going to try this today! Thank you!

Any specific kind of stick-on foam strip insulation I should get?

You can tell if the rattle is coming from that splash guard simply by holding the splash guard tightly in one hand while closing your rear door with the other. If that's what it is then you can use some of this stuff from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-Ki...Rubber-Foam-Weatherstrip-Tape-R734H/100047977

Just cut 6 inch strips of it and place them where you think the splash guard is rubbing against your bedside. Make sure to wipe the area clean with alcohol wherever you plan on sticking the strips. I had to place about 5 six inch strips to completely eliminate the same rattle. Oddly enough I only had that rattle on the passenger side.

Glad to help, hope it works! :)

i hate rattles and clunks too! just found out that my headrest on the driver seat rattles and it drove me crazy...for the longest time i thought it was something in the back seat until one day i was driving trying to pinpoint it and i could see the headrest jiggling....pulled it up one notch to make sure it was locked a voila!

I have put my headrest on every notch there is and it still rattles. It is not the headrest, it is the grey pieces that it goes into.

Just found and mitigated a rattle that has been driving me nuts- 2011 access cab, under the passenger seat in the front there is a little flap in the carpet with a 1" velcro closure, just under that is a small metal cover over some cable or wiring junction. The metal cover will vibrate against the body and its hard to track down, but if you're long armed you can reach under the seat when driving and press on it and stop the noise. You could easily remove it all together it is just on with one bolt, but I think it protects whatever is under it from your passenger shoving stuff under the seat, sorry I couldn't get a decent picture but just look for the velcro strip and flap in the carpet in the front on the right just behind the raised ridge

What about putting some vasoline on the metal part of the headrest that slides into the grey parts on the top of the seat?

My rear passenger window was rattling and driving me nuts! It turns out there is a rubber piece that sits in the window channel fell off. I slapped on some double sided sticky tape and no more rattle

Not gonna lie, the "window kazoo" was what originally brought me to TW years ago...however I'm not following you guys in terms of the splash guard and door seal. Mind if I ask for pics?

I'd love to get rid of my kazoo once and for all!

Awesome, I'm glad you will be able to eliminate at least 1 Tacoma rattle!
