Can't tell if that's an actual pic of it on the truck or a BStock photo he got from a Google search. It does say short bed, but to some people all Tacoma's have a short bed haha

Nothing about color either, which I can't be picky about if I want it cheap used... Tan would be cool but black would probably match big cheese the best. I might just call their office and see if they have any discount scratch dent ones

the pic looks like a long bed. but like you said might be a stock image? I can certainly go look at it if somone wants me to and get it for you if you want it. If none of you guys want it...might buy it for myself! 2nd gen and 1st gen beds are basicially the same width and length so i bet it would fit if its for a 6' bed.

I really doubt that the short time it spent in my truck damaged your battery. IIRC your battery is not the sealed type. It is the old style that has caps for adding water. I don't see how excess internal pressure could happen. In fact, I recall seeing fluid stains on the top of yours where liquid had escaped thru the cell caps. It was like that when you gave it to me.

You got a pic of this bulge?

I kno mine failed but I doubt it was due to that alt. Mostly likely its killer was the vibration and pounding abuse it has taken over the years.

I bought mine online from Advanced Auto. There are several threads on here that give links to older articles that detail how to get the right one. Mr Tim also found that there is a difference in the pulley sizes that will have an impact on output. I'm pretty sure there is also a lot of info in frank's build.

My notes indicate I bought two items. In addition to the alt, I got BWD connector: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/carquest-by-bwd-electrical-connector-pt200/20974213-P

But I can't remember whether we used it or not.

The alt I purchased is a ToughOne p8112-4.3. Unfortunately, I can't find it on AdvanceAuto.com. However, I did find it at this site: http://www.auto-parts-world.com/toughone-alternator-remanufactured-140-amps-p8112-4-3-5210879-2/

The alternator outputs 14.1v like any alt. Higher amps yea but shouldn't have overloaded it at all.

I'll be back in Casper come Januray/Febuary for work again, if it made its way to Butte somehow or even close by I could get it down that way.

Yea man I definately do. Its depressing, I havent even made it into the hills back home here since I've been back. School has been killing me.
