TRDORDCSB+JBL ordered in September. Due in early December. But I paid no deposit and we settled on a trade price with me keeping my truck. Free miles I guess.

Geez. Placed my order at the same time as you and have a Nov. 9th build date. I even got a package that isn't offered in my region and I'm supposed to get it before you. What did you order?

I ordered the unicorn it seems.

DCLB TRD Off-road 4x4 tow package, premium package, tech package, no jbl magnetic gray metallic, gray/gunmetal interior. Not offered in this region I'm told.

I walked on the lot at 9:20 AM. My truck had been delivered at 9AM. I did not pre-order or put a deposit down.
I'd been eyeballing it's arrival through the dealer's site for a week. They couldn't give me a hard arrival date so I stopped by Monday and Tuesday as well.
Exactly what I wanted, and then some; I could have gone without the Predator steps.

    Yes, the unicorn.

I also call mine the unicorn. DCSB Off Road stick shift in Inferno with the Tech Package. Very low allocation to begin with and since zero were going to be allocated to my region I got lucky and snagged one. Believe it or not, my dealership tried to build this truck three times and Toyota gave them 2 allocations with everything I ordered BUT the Tech Package. I told them I'd just take it because I was tired of waiting. Three days later Toyota finally accepted my build with everything I wanted.

Now my dealership is going to have three orange '16 Tacoma Off Roads with manual transmissions showing up one after another

All this waiting, I just drove down to a local dealer who had 8 Tacomas in stock, picked out my favorite and drove it home.

Pre ordered July 25th, dealer forgot about me and my truck. Started over today at a different dealer, at least it's much closer and got a better deal.

Depends on your region and what you're ordering.

Yeah it seems like where you are matters most. Obviously the exact specs you're looking for is huge, but the region seems like the biggest factor

Not much of a wait just north of Portland, OR for Silver TRD Sport DCLB with all the options minus JBL. Dealer had one due in the region within a couple of days. Unfortunately, that one was already sold. Had to wait a week to get the Quicksand color on 10/21 with the same specs.

I am in the Atlanta area. I ordered a TRD Sport DCLB 4x2 MGM with tow and JBL at the end of September, but haven't been given a build date yet. The website (http://southeast.buyatoyota.com/tacoma/build) won't let you select that configuration, but I'm not sure if that's intentional or just the website not working properly. At this point I'd be happy to get it by Christmas, but I doubt that will happen. The dealership couldn't tell me when they might get one with that configuration.

I bought the sr model so I didn't have to wait. It was on the lot and I bought it right then and there. Under 20 miles on it.

I use for the bed. Extra space to carry stuff if I need to. No longer have to borrow a friends truck.

This is my first truck so I didn't kno if I was going to like owning one. If I get another truck in the future(which most likely am). It will have to be TRD off road or limited.

I've never bought a low end car before so I never knew why people talk about their limited like they bought something special. Now I kno. The lack of nice features...

Yes, that is a normal wait time.
Also understand you are not ordering a truck, you are requesting one. Toyota does not do custom orders like some other awesome truck makers *cough* Ford *cough*.
The dealer puts in a request, so when a truck with your specs is made it gets it. So you could be waiting longer.

I was going to put in an order for a Sport back in Sept with a delivery in mid October and a pick up Nov 1st. My dealer has only got one Tacoma as of yet and no word of another for a couple weeks. I would be lucky to get that truck my December I think. Makes me happy I didn't buy with them. I wonder if others have had the same issues.

Couldn't find any long bed Sports on the lots anywhere in New England. Went into a dealer is Westboro, MA and placed an order on a new DCLB TRD Sport with tech/jbl. They told me the build date was around November 24 and delivery should be the first week of December. Woooh!!

Mine was supposed to be at port last Wednesday, but it was pushed back. Dealer was concerned that the status had not changed by Friday and called to try and figure out what was going on. Apparently, the train is sitting somewhere in Texas waiting out those storms. I'm hoping that it will get moving again and be at port by next weekend.
