To the person that started this thread, first "OFF", I think your keypad is broke. Second, for the last time, ( I doubt it). The trifold cover from Toyota can not be transferred to a truck that did not have it installed @ the time it was built. There are 6 pins that are a apart of the frame that cannot be transferred from one to the other. If you ordered a truck with it or it comes with it. There marred for life.

And I retract part of that statement. I didn't see the second there with married . thats what I get for not paying attention.

 

The cover could be swapped to another truck, you'd just need to swap the pins/strikers that it mounts to as well as the box side panel top plastic cover as well.

The main issue is that if you want to take it off (completely), you will need to replace those top covers as well, or else you will have holes in them where the pins used to be.

But it's certainly doable.

For the serious answers thank you! I could not find much info in other threads on the swap! It was hard enough to find a truck with the specs I wanted at the price I wanted so I am happy with what Iv got. But With 2 car seats i got no room for baggage and i really need a tonneau cover. I like the hard trifolds but seems like dealership price 650 is better than anything I can find! Any suggestions?

 

Installing a factory tonneau is going to be a real booger.
