Make sure you use that one data point is definitive.

You aren't plagerizing... you are parroting.. which is just about as bad.

I find absolutely nothing wrong with my 2nd Gen interior. Nothing. Some people want a Mercedes interior at Yugo costs...

I do the "fill up and divide" just to make sure on "frequent" trips of 250 miles one way. It doesn't change unless I have snow tires. Then the mileage drops one to two.

I have made this point several times. The 2015 2nd gen interior/dash, is similar to my 2004 4Runner I had for 11 years before. The 2016 looked good. But it was different, not better sitting in. It would change for the better in the lighting if I drove it for sure...but not much....different not better...same buttons, different places. Heck, I like the plane Jane military look of the panels on an AF military KC135 refueling planes I road in. Switches are switches.

I love how we are still talking about the gen 2's interior. Hell, the design has really stuck around since 2005. Not much has changed besides the head unit and cup holders. I personally find nothing wrong with the interior. IMO simple is better.

Some car makers, including Toyota for a time, used the base engine for the full size as the premium engine for the intermediate. Since Toyota has let their full size truck engines remain stagnent in developement they looked elsewhere. Otherwise, we would see the 4.7 v8...... The thought brings a smile to a lot of Taco buyers who want the acceleration of a Teslar S. 0-60 in 2.8 seconds; we would be half way there.

I use cruise control as much as possible to take driver input out of the equation to get a good idea of what it is doing. If you use cruise all the time now, it is what it is.

Just traded my 15 for a 16. Thought I'd weigh in on the engine issue.
I will agree, the off the line punch is not as good as my 15 was. That said, the engine overall is much improved. It does require a heavier foot and more rpm, but this truck is definitely faster overall. And MUCH smoother. Always hated sticking my foot in the 15 as it sounded like you were strangling a cat and very rough.
It would have been nice if they'd kept the displacement, or even increased it. Or even went with a 4cyl turbo setup. My situation makes it worse, living at 5300ft altitude.
Other than that, the truck is 100% improved. They pretty much fixed everything I didn't like about the previous model and added every peice of equipment I'd wanted. Ride is amazing. Super quiet. Technologically up to date. Let's see how long it takes for a supercharger kit for the 3.5 to appear.

I have 2200 miles on my DCSB TRD Sport MT now, and it seems to be loosening up. Most of the complaints I've seen on TW about the 16 V6 have to do with the auto trans, and frankly, seem to not be present on the MT. My best mileage has been here in the mountains, getting 24mpg repeatedly on tanks that included 10,000' passes. My worst mileage was last week in Kansas on interstate in storms at 18.9. I figured it was crosswinds and maybe driving a little too fast to be efficient (its a long way across Kansas at only 70).

This is my first pickup with a 6, the previous 5 were all V8's (4 with MT) and none had the weight/power ratio of the 16 Tacoma.

^^^^ This. All Toyota would have to do, is offer an optional upgraded engine, just like all the other manufacturers! First thing first, they need to address the frame rot issue, and actually do a full redesign!

Yep. It's funny how people who drive 1/4 ton trucks think that is good mileage.

It wasn't getting good mileage either.
