alternative to bilsteins?

    oil change...
    I want new shocks on my truck! I have seen that alot of people are using the Bilsteins but I dont like the yellow...

    and I have a 3" lift. how much travel should the new shocks have on them?

    I have had good experience with Rancho's. The RSX and the 9000 seem very good. I prefer the RSX. :)

    I was gonna recommend EMU - but they're yellow.

    if im not mistaken all of the bilstein 51 series are silver...

    i know the 5100, 5125, and 5150s are



    i had a pair of ranchos briefly on my front end and they rode pretty rough...however it could have been the spacer on the coils...not sure...either way id be hesitant to try them again...especially since ive had such good luck with billys

    Most shocks are pwder coated, and spray paint doesnt stick well to it. From what I have tried.

    A couple of minutes per shock with emory paper and the paint bonds just fine. At least that is true of "Rustoleum".

    I had a feeling that that was all it would take. I tried to repaint some shocks in the past, and the paint wouldnt stick at all. I just replaced them, as the prepping didnt seem worth it to me. :)
