There is also a difference between Asshole Parking and Dumbass Parking. The Jeep is obviously Dumbass Parking and probably Asshole Parking. The BMW is obviously Asshole Parking and probably Dumbass Parking...

Here is my two cents. Lines are for you to put your car between them not on top of them. You are speeding on an empty road, cop pulls you over and gives you a ticket regardless if you were alone on the road or with whole bunch of assholes (face it we are all assholes at one point). Rules are rules.

Rules are rules. Being and Asshole and not following the rules are two different things. Speeding is a saftey issue at anytime or road condition. Typically a bad parking job doesn't directly put anyone's saftey at risk. If it did the cops would be trolling parking lots giving tickets all the time. I was not suggesting that of you park all fucked up you shouldn't pay the price, just that one is more of a dick move than the other.

As a former cop myself I'm a bit defensive of stuff like this. It is an emergency vehicle and presumably on duty. Thus, parking in a manner that lets him leave as quickly as possible is important. Not to mention a police car isn't a issue for the fire truck typically because the cop should know they are coming and thus can move the car. Where as Joe blows car has to be pushed aside because nobody can find him.

That being said... If there are open spaces nearby that are easy to get in and out of the officer should park there instead simply for public perception purposes in my opinion.

As said above I'm defensive of cops. But I'm wondering what reason they both had to park on the sidewalk......
