Traded my 2012 sport for the 16
I tell you what gents. I have read all the 3rd gen forums, they are fun to read. My personal opinion is the 3rd gens are a stout truck. I previously owned a 2012 DCSB TRD sport and loved it. I still love the 2nd gens, they are fricken awesome as most Tacoma are. With that being said, I am extremely please with my upgrade to the 2016 DCSB TRD off-road 4x4. I have only had it about a week and I have no major complaints. I can however see what people are saying about the power thing. My 12 was super responsive and fast. The 16 has the same responsivness if you give it a little more gas which sucks however, the power is there if you need it. It's a smooth, quiet and quite frankly a luxiours ride. very comfortable as the 2nd gens are too. Did some minor off roading and was very please. The crawl control is super loud but works well. Gas so far around the city is the same as my 2012, 17mpg average. Just giving my option.

    Only upgrade was tires:

Everything about your truck looks great, can't get over that front end though. If they took the existing Tundra and put that front end on it (or something more similar) then I might be tempted to upgrade my 2010. The fuel economy is still pretty subpar, I think Toyota could have done a lot better in that dept.

I'm sure you'll love your truck. Enjoy.

Thank you so much for providing us with your option....and posting the same pictures multiple times. Very helpful...in proving my point
Does anyone else in the third gen subforum have options they would like to share? Perhaps maybe an "opinion" would be beneficial to this thread instead an "option?"
