    Interesting that most of the postings in this thread were therefore made in Baja. I wonder if that plant is bigger, or started making them first.

    I would bet that they changed over the baja plant sooner and finished out the gen 2 production in Texas then retooled it. That way it is a seamless transition into gen 3 and you are not playing the guess how many you should produce to cover the lapse game as much. Having two plants for the same vehicle has its advantages.

    ^^^Some Googling leads me to think that most, if not almost all, of the North American Tacomas with a double cab and v6 are made in Baja. Current production is around 90,000 per year with three shifts running the plant. All of the Tacoma composite beds are made in Baja.
