Set the preload where it rides well and provides enough lift to your liking.

That's how much I have, rides like a Cadillac with blown shocks.

That's how mine rides....wanting to cut and beat the firewall more to lessen preload and make the ride smoother.

That blown shock ride is awesome. Had that all the way home from Moab. It's like riding on a cloud.

Your firewall should already be clearanced enough to stuff the tires lock to lock so lessening ther preload shouldn't be an issue. If they still rub when you lower it that means you didn't do enough smashing the first time around

It's pretty damn nice. Sometimes between the resonant frequency of the TSLs and the blown shocks it's just enough to put me to sleep

I still don't understand how tire size doesn't effect rubbing. If you have 1" of clearance on bumpstops with 35s
Then shouldn't you have like 2" clearance with 33s ? Your bump stop point hasn't changed but the size of the tire has. There's less tire to tuck now. The hub will stop at the same point.

The only way it'll change is if your bumpstop changes as well, no?

Assuming he beat enough to clear the tire size he had.
    Yes thats correct.

Nvm I misread the post up above about going from 33s to 35s. I didn't see the preload change.

I cut and beat the crap out of it. I need to cut a little more off soon but the last wheeling trip I went on I didn't rub at all. Yesterday backing out of a parking spot I started to rub. When I throw on my DK LCAs and new spindles I'll cut the rest and beat the crap out of the firewall even more.

Take your shocks out and set your truck on your bumps, beat accordingly...pretty simple

could have tweaked your alignment while wheeling to throw it off a bit...

Anyone know of a reason I can't run factory wheels with my 35's for street driving for a bit while I buy new wheels if that's needed? I have 1.25" spacers in the front. I'm thinking my wheels are bent or warped or some shit.

without spacers you'd rub on the UCA

sharp turns you'd rub on the frame more

So relatively I should be good with the spacers minus the sharp turns

No, you will be all over the UCA.

This is with 4" BS, I believe stock wheels are somewhere around 5.5".

Now I'm confused, I thought you were asking about stock wheels w/o spacers.
