2016 Tacoma 3.5L with Flowmasters 40 Series Delta Flow Aftermarket Exhaust

Replaced the quiet stock muffler with a Flowmasters 40 Series Delta Flow(#9425422)! It was a complete guessing game because no one in Hawaii put an exhaust on this truck with the 3.5L motor. I like the sound. Nice growl. I'll post another video once it breaks in. There is a shop called Exhaust Systems Hawaii that does custom exhaust and piping. They do a great job for great prices! This was done at the King Street location.

Hell of a scratch.

 

Idle sound is nice. Take off was nice.....acceleration release was a bit ricer burner sounding.

I give it a 7/10...would install.

 

Would this void warranty?

 

Dealers can't "void" your warranty for adding aftermarket parts. They can only deny a specific warranty claim if they can prove that the aftermarket part/mod caused the problem.

 

Thanks! Power seams to be about the same, just for sound if anything haha. It might sound Ricey depending on what your listening to the clip on, i.e. Cell phone. But anyway, my bad, I don't remember the specs of the stock muffler!

 

And yes, you are correct. Warranty for the muffler is gone, but warranty for everything else is good haha

 

What was the cost and exact set up you did. Did you keep the stock catalytic convertor. single in dual out? Mahalo's

Sounds really good Bradduh, That is the first thing I'm doing when I get mine. What made you decide to get the 40 Delta Flow and not the Super 40's. How's it sound from inside the cab? Do you have AT or MT

Rick at Exhaust Systems Hawaii King st. recommended the delta flow 40. just in case the 3.5L wouldnt be able to push the super 44. basically to prevent it from sounding bad. there is absolutely no drone in the cab. the cab is very quiet. I can whisper to my passenger going 65mph. I have a automatic trans. The auto trans shifts quite a lot. hopefully it stops after it breaks in and learns the driving habits. I kinda wish it would hold the lower gear longer for better acceleration, but i guess thats how it saves gas mileage... by shifting a lot.

Have you tried driving with the ECT button enabled? It will hold the lower gear a bit longer before shifting.

I find mine shifts a lot too...especially with the cruise on.... I find if you drive without cruise you can control the excessive shifting.. Mine seems to be improving every day.... Concerned me at first but the truck does seem to "learn" the way you drive

 

Pulled my trd exhaust off the old truck..only had about 2000kms on it..will be installing next week ..anybody else done this yet ??
