I typically do 4. But I'm nervous of chipping due to rocks and road debris. I'm doing 8 coats. Ended up being a little less than 3 cans.

We'll see how durable it'll end up!

Sorry for the poor quality. Once the weather eases up, I'll get it in the sun light. Came out great... Hoping it'll be durable enough.

Yea, it looks sharp! The look is definitely what I was shooting for. My concern is it's durability.

I think the real fix would be to Rhino Line the grille. I have no idea what the cost would be. This cost me $12.

I think you will be surprised with the durability. I did some wheels over a year ago and they are still holding up. Been pressure washed numerous times. Think I did 3 or 4 coats.

Great job! Looks way better. I derped my wife's grille on her Ford Edge and it has held up fairly good. It's been 3 years and about 35k miles and there are some "chips" I could retouch up if I wanted to, but it hasn't bothered me too much. From 10' away it looks great.

I played around with mine this weekend as well, of course it's temporary until the aftermarket starts producing some decent options.

Looks so much better without the chrome ring around the grill

Here's a better picture at this really fancy store I shop at. As you can see, the weather is still damp.

That worked out well. I think the 2016's would look better if the lower lip were black also. Just my taste and not for everyone.

Looks good Detako, I love the quiet interior on the new gen 3 too. No one realizes I'm using the bluetooth unless I let em know, wasn't that way in the gen 2 I had.

With all the free space behind that grill, I'd be looking at how to mount some lightbars.

I'm very happy with it. This Sky Silver is so damn sharp looking. I have all the emblems dipped and now the grill. The matte black pops against the silver very well.

I get at least 1 person a day approach me about the truck. It's insane. Needless to say, I've been very happy with it so far. A couple minor things I think Toyota should have done, but nothing that would have changed my mind on it.

Those in the market, be sure to check out the silver in person before you make a decision.

I thought a train horn would be cool. Then I looked at one up close, they're about 5 feet long. I realized it would take all the power my truck had to run a compressor big enough to blow it.

I agree the silver looks much better in person and that was what I ordered, Then I saw the Quicksand and new I had to have it.:woot:Changed my order and now waiting an extra 2 weeks but I wanted something different as my Ford is silver. Your grill came out great and I'll be looking to do the same once mine arrives.
