There's multiple Toyota dealers in the Costco plan here. For a Gig Harbor zip code, Costco set me up with the Toyota in Bremerton, and they said they'd do a 2016 Tacoma for 500 over invoice.

For an Issaquah zip code, Costco set me up with Toyota of Bellevue, and they also did the 500 over invoice. I prefer them because they add a third year of free scheduled maint. and do free loaners, etc. Huge volume dealership.

I think for now the costco pricing is a good option for those who can get it in their areas. Even in AZ there are SOME (not all) dealers trying to push the Tacos for MSRP because the demand is there. If you don't come in armed with research and ready to negotiate or walk, you'll be paying MSRP. The Costco deal eliminates a lot of that hassle. Also if one dealer offers Costco pricing and you walk to another dealer with that Costco email/price, most should at least match the deal. Eventually sales will slow on these new trucks, inventory will build and then negotiating beyond Costco deals may get a better price than just Invoice or "$500 over" invoice because dealers are still making money on TDA, Hold Back, and --likely if you trade-- on your trade...there is always some overhead built into those 'invoice' prices. No dealership is going to "lose money" on a deal despite what they tell you. Unless maybe you somehow unload a turd of a high-dollar trade on them with some masked mechanical issue and they don't discover it until after it's too late. I can't see too many ways a Dealer is going to lose money....kinda like a Casino, they're in business for a reason.

Exactly. The goal is so they don't make a ton of money off you and save that for the uneducated saps

Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa is selling 2016 Tacoma's at $750 over invoice, at least they were 2 weeks ago.

I just sent Earnhardt a message and the guy is telling me that TRD OR 4x4 double cabs are being sold at MSRP.

Oddly enough, he has 2 in stock. Black and white.

If Costco gets $750 over invoice, that's a decent deal. $2k under MSRP.

If you Contact them with a Costco certificate they will sell at invoice at Earnhardt. Call Mike Mead or Herb Rivera. But I suggest going wth Chris Lopez at Riverview he will cut a good deal and is a great customer rep

That is interesting. I did the Costco Auto Program using several zip codes in Snohomish and North King County, and the only dealer I got matched to was in Port Angeles, over 100 miles and a ferry ride away. I called them and they did not have my preferred configuration in stock, did not know when it would arrive, and were reluctant to order one (TRD Sport DCSB 4x4 tech/tow Inferno). I went to the dealers in Edmonds, Everett, Lake City and Mt. Vernon, and all of them said it would be months before they would have the TRDs on the Program or TrueCar, since they were pre-selling them off the truck at MSRP. I thought it was significant that none of them had a TRD in stock, except for one dealer who had an Off-Road arrive on Thursday and it was sold on Saturday. They did, however, all offer to sell me a new Camry at $ 500 over invoice under the Program.

I ended up ordering in Port Angeles (or trading allocation, whichever comes first), was quick and painless.

I'm in Bend, OR and I inquired about the 2016 Tacoma through the Costco program. At first, they did not have the new pricing for the 2016s. A few days later the dealer contacted me again and said that the Costco prices were $500 over invoice. Their inventory was slightly limited, as half of the new Tacomas were being sold before they hit the lot. The dealer called me and sent me a price sheet for a 2016 Tacoma DCLB with the Off-Road and premium tech packages that had an MSRP of $38,399. Costco price? $36,640. $1759 off MSRP. I ended up using a College Grad rebate for an extra $750 off as well. Not a bad deal for a 2016! Let me know if you have any questions relating to the experience.

I worked with Joseph Beezhold at Earnhardt, a good sales rep. Got mine at $750 over invoice, it was my understanding that's what they were pricing them at but maybe things have changed.

When did you buy? I was there earlier in the week shopping around with my Costco referral code and they quoted me invoice but I ended up working with Riverview because I like the way Chris has reached out to the community here.

Email 1 - I ask what pricing is:

    "Costco price for Tacoma is $500 over invoice. For example, please check details of 2016 Tacoma that I can make special order as below;
    Costco: $38,135 +TTL

    HH Premium & Technology Package
    TC Tonneau Cover
    TO V6 Tow Package:
R1 Polished Stainless Steel Step Tube
(and floor mats...i just deleted, by accident) "

    MSRP - $39094

    E-mail 2 - I ask about a pretty stripped version:

"Costco price for 2016 Tacoma 4x4 Off-road package with HH + TO is $37,107 +TTL."

Now, I'm no mathemagician, but according to the numbers in the other thread that lists invoice pricing...

    TRD OR DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO - $31249 / $33731
    HH - PREM & TECH PKG, NON JBL - $2074 / $2033
    TO - TOWING PACKAGE - $579 / $650

    $33902 / $36416

Am I making some really stupid math mistake somewhere?

Yes and no. Your numbers are correct except you're leaving out the delivery fee of $900 (or more if in GST or SET region).

    delivery is $950...true...ok, so

    33902 + 500 (costco pricing) = 34402 + 950 (GST delivery) = $35,352.
