Let a friend from work borrow the truck...

He's filled it with his insurance so they are covering everything. Big thing of him to do so I definitely appreciate it and thanked him for it. We squared it all away like grown-ups. Things went smooth from the beginning.

 

Agree, I understand the frustration, it is your baby but in the end its just a truck and you "cant take it with you" so to speak. You have a great opportunity to prove to your friend that his friendship is more important than a thing and to look past his mistake that was an accident. Just my 2 cents tho. I'd still be mad but I'd just hit the track or knock some balls into the water.

 

He knows our friendship isn't in any danger. He talked it out and all is well. And for an outlet of frustration, have a soccer game tonight so it'll be left there as far as anger.

 

Will think of an expensive mod then to hit him up for!

 

Exactly. And also lesson learned after all the positive and negative feedback I received on this thread. This is the type of conversation I was trying to strike up but obviously did a bad job at trying to do so from the beginning. Probably the last time I'll start a thread or comment on anything that's not soccer related.

You're mad at yourself for having let it go. You should'nt have let it go in the first place if you couldn't deal with all possible outcomes.

People, friends, relationships, and fellow work/business ties are way more important.

Ya did start it out in pretty dramatic fashion. Some people completely understand a meltdown over minor damage. Some can't because they bang their trucks against rocks and stumps for fun.

Good point. Guess I'm not one of those and because of that my point of view on the situation is completely different. Definitely a good and valid point there.

Sure. I started off like that as well to him busting his chops. And I've told him, to his face, numerous times actually, that his car is a POS. Even he says it. The only reason why he has it is because of the hybrid feature since he has a bit of a long commute to work. And I'm not just saying this just to say it, it's the honest truth.

Hey it sucks your truck got messed up but he is getting it fixed and isn't trying to pass the buck but at the end of the day if you got this upset over something that will be 100% fixed you should have been the one driving it. my motto is "the truck stays with me if you need it you need me"

BTW, that damage to just the cab only has an angled wipe/scratch, while the door's scratch is horizontal.... I can't see how a vertical fence post can do that.

... Just curious forensics in my mind. At least it'll be repaired.

 

I guess I'm just a pushover and can't seem to say no when people ask me for help. That's what it comes down to. And that's my own fault for being too nice of a guy I guess, or not (depends on who you ask in this thread). But what's done is done. Hard lesson learned for next time. Just have to learn to say no, period.
