One of those lessons of life you learn as you get older (usually the hard way) is DONT LOAN SHIT OUT IF YOU CANT HANDLE THE POSSIBILITY OF ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE.

Also in the same ballpark....NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED and CAN YOU ADMIT YOU'VE NEVER accidentally damaged something you borrowed.

 

You make a good point. And to be honest with you, I thought the same thing. But the more I thought about it the less sense it made, and quite honestly I was upset enough and didn't want to force the issue any more. And I'm sure neither did he. Not sure if you can really tell from the pic, but the metal is pushed in, a lot. Even the guy at the body shop said "WOW". Mostly because of the weird place it's in. But whatever. What's done is done.

Agreed and definitely lesson learned for the future.

 

If i was in his situation and you said all the shit you were saying in the first couple pages, I would have fixed everything and afterwards knocked you in your mouth. You let him borrow the truck, you knew the risks. Shit happens thats why theyre called accidents. At least he manned up and is fixing it

To each his own opinion. That's yours and you're entitled to it. And still new to this mod thing so not really sure what rock sliders are so can't really comment to that. But if you say it would have prevented it, then you must be right as I'm sure you've been around this a lot longer than I have.

 

Just got my truck last month, so still pretty new to everything. Lol.
Sadly though the rock sliders havent stopped all the brush on the local trails from leaving love scratches on my truck.

 

The friend you luckily didn't get during this is the one that says "I don't know how it happened", with that stupid F*cking look on their face. I'd buy your boy a beer because he owned straight up what happened.

He has to of know you well enough to know you wouldn't be happy, but that didn't deter him from manning up.

 

Scratches are one thing, dent and things like that are another. But definitely will check out what rock sliders are just for the fun of it, for now, and see what they're all about so thanks for the tip!

There's a good way to respond to life and a bad way, and also a good way to vent and a bad way that makes you look like the lesser person.

 

Personally, I like these. Few years ago I would have had a little hissy fit, but now I see them as battle scars....scars I can be proud of.

 

You hit the nail on the head. Very well said. Short and sweet. Definitely thankful that he wasn't that type of person. Like I mentioned numerous times... this thread was more of a venting thing. Nothing else. I was seriously under the impression, and everyone please don't take me wrong, that I would get "love and sympathy" and not "hate posts" like I did. I guess that's my own fault for not "reading the vibe" in the forum correctly, plus my own fault for not setting up the thread correctly, that it was just more to vent, and hopefully get some input/feedback from everyone else here of course. That lesson was also learned.

 

I was actually pretty content with the first couple of ones, but they just keep adding up. Lol. But theyre growing on me the MGM hides some of the love marks pretty decently. I did mess up one of my fender flares pretty good one of my last times out, but thats just another reason to get the bushwacker flares.

 

Brother you're cool by me! I get your initial post for sure! I think we are just all giving you a hard time in good jest! (at least some of us) Its a little tough to see on a forum we're not being super harsh on you.

 

Looking back at it now, agreed and understand completely. That's where I failed, in not setting this thread up to that point from the beginning. If I was a lesser person, I would have told him where to go (not in a good way), and would have made him handle everything. I am not that type of person so I accepted his apology and picked up where he left off, which was setting up estimates etc. since he had already contacted his insurance agency. I thanked him for his honesty, and for getting the ball rolling.

 

If it's yourself inflicting the scar I can agree, but since it wasn't, it "rubs me the wrong way". But so be it. It will get fixed next week so it'll "look like almost new".

 

Thanks for that. Not sure everyone agrees with you or sees it in the same way, but oh well. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and nothing anyone can do about that.
