I hate that I can't punch in an address or dial a number while rolling. I'm not the guy that looks at his phone while driving, never have. But I'd love to have the full capability of the OS while in motion.

Is there a work around for this?

I use Voice control for everything while moving. The system works well.

Can I voice control to dial a number not in my contacts or to get directions to an address?

Yes. All of that, even Entune apps. I use voice for everything. Take the voice tutorial.

Well... Fuck me. Disregard the thread, I guess I have to figure it out.

I tried to voice dial a number yesterday and didn't get anywhere with it. I said "Call 1 2 3 4 5". Didn't work. I'll pull out the ole' book!

    Thanks guys!

The "destinations app" works great to find places my name via voice.

Best thing you can do is the Voice Training in the setup menu. It will learn the tone and cadence of your voice so it will work mucho better. Its under the setup screen.

Yep^ the technology is so good now it's amazing. In just a week of ownership I've come to the point where I use voice for almost everything.

Thx everyone. I did the voice training. Made the world of a difference.

Also, I kept saying "call" when I should have been saying "dial".

You can manually move the map to the area you want to go to. Then drop a pin.

What I did was load the locations into the system. Or load a freeway exit to a shopping area.

Also go into the settings to adjust your driving restrictions and speeds. It makes the arrival times better. And you can turn off the option to make the shortest distance. That will keep you on the highway instead of taking an off ramp. Drive through a subdivision the get on the other highway. Because it 1/10 of a mile shorter.
