Copy that OZ, but the links I posted compare the 27M Northstar batteries as discussed in my original post. Not sure if CT even sells the 27F...

Aren't the 27M terminals on the wrong sides ?

Depends on if you have an old battery to get the core charge back... One nice thing about buying from CT over some distant or small company is an easy warranty. Having had a few PC1500 Odyssey batteries crap out on me that I purchased in the USA, i can certainly appreciate a warranty with national coverage...

Yes. I did not say that it was a direct replacement.

Sure , not trying to start an argument .

You could also go 24F Northstar , not sure Nautilus makes that size

I like that the 27F has the correct battery terminal config instead of not for $40 over the 27M though

Actually just noticed the Nautilus price is " plus $20 core charge " so apples to apples it's a $20 difference

The Nautilus warranty is 3 years and the Northstar is 4 years as well while we're picking fly shit outta pepper

Yup, if you do not have an old battery to trade in you will save $20. If you do have an old one to trade in you will save $40. Interestingly enough if you look closer at the Northstar specs you will see that only the automotive batteries are warrantied for 4 years. The Northstar Marine, like the MotoMaster equivalents are warrantied for 3 years.

are you planning on making a 27M work by altering your battery leads ?

OZ, If you look at my original post you will see that I am using these batteries for a custom application. I have two 24m batteries in parallel behind the rear seats and one 27m in the engine bay as my primary battery. I have upgraded all of my grounds, charging and starting wiring to 1/0 so the additional distance to the terminals was not a problem for me. If there are others that want to use these batteries in a custom application, then they can save some money and reduce potential warranty headaches (shipping) down the road. If you are looking for a direct factory replacement then obviously the 27F is the way to go.

WTF are you powering with that kind of juice requirement? Satans stereo? The winch off of a 15 ton crane?

I mean it's a great setup but that seems like a lot of battery and work for a Tacoma even with aftermarket lighting, winches, etc.

Haha! ARB fridge and ambient lighting while camping for a week at a time without needing to start the truck. Also, we do quite a bit of spear fishing and the 1000watt inverter pulls a lot of amps with the girlfriend hair dryer! Haha!
