One of my computers is a Dell XPS 420. On Friday I was installing Norton Ghost 14.0. The computer rebooted before the install was complete and now I can't use my CD/DVD or Blu_ray optical drives or even see them when I clcik on "My Computer". In Device Manager both drives have an exclamation in a yellow triangle. I tried uninstalling the drives; I tried disconnecting the cable, rebooting, shut down, reinstalling the cables and starting back up. Nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas?

Go to dell's website and enter your Dell service tag, download the drivers for the CD/DVD and you should be good to go.

I downloaded the drivers. When I try to install to install the drivers, the computer says it can't find the equipment they're meant for.

Thanks for your help, Sockmonkey. My drives are working. I deleted UpperFilter and LowerFilter from the Registry as suggested in your article. Then I had to register MSCOMCTL.ocx and ssa3d30.ocx using the command regsvr32.
