Everything was sorted out and things are in motion to get it repaired. Just hard not to get mad whwn it's your car. I take pride in what I own.

Good question. But whatever. What's done is done, and most importantly, it's getting fixed next week and he's covering it obviously.

I do understand not being happy about the truck as I have been in nearly the same spot. I don't understand the intensity or degree of being upset.

To me, regardless of who's driving, there's always a possibility of damage (even if it's parked). That being the case, if I loan a vehicle out (or if I have it), I'm not surprised if it gets dinged. Knowing that and feeling they way I do, it's not as big an issue for me (at all).

I'm of the fix it & move on mind set because there's far too many other things that are actually important in life to waste time dwelling on a vehicle.

But, people are different...

 

Not sure what type of fence so taking his word for it on what happened.

 

Great and valid points. It's just hard to move on when I see the damage everyday. Hopefully once it gets fixed it'll be easier.

 

I had a buddy DD for me once and he went thru a stop sign and a fkn flatbed tow truck just took the whole engine on my murano all off my air bags went and it was a 2010 murano LOL.. He didn't pay a dime to today but then again I ran over his foot with my infinity last year lol

The only people not forbidden from driving my car are the dealership people who drive it around at the dealership...

I've had a couple vehicles of mine backed into (hard) and have been in 4 wrecks where I was just sitting there and someone drove into me....BOTH cases where I was backed into, I was driving Camaro's that I'd restored.

I'm OCD about my vehicles. My wife says EVERY car, truck, motorcycle, boat, tractor, or pair of shoes I've ever owned, it was like they were my very first. Yes, I take a great deal of pride in knowing my vehicles are as close to perfect as they can be.

So yeah, I know how infuriating it can be when someone elses negligence takes a tole on my property. That said, it's very important to me that I keep my dignity and composure when things DON'T go my way. The way I see it, the one thing that trumps someone being an asshole is when I'M the asshole....

And then my wife has such a way with words....She calls a spade a spade..... and tells me this gem when I get upset at something that I can't do anything to change....."Bill, Stop being a baby."......

I agree with you being angry, especially where it doesn't sound like he said anything between it happening and when you saw it. I'm of similar mind, I don't even like to let my wife use my truck. She is a great driver but never locks the doors, plus spills coffee all over the place in her rav4
