    I know this has been answered and I'm kinda sorry..

    What backspacing actually clears the UCA without spacers? How much exposed tire can I expect at this point (some of the cops around here are picky). Other than a cab mount chop and a BFH, who has had to cut their fenders?

    That's not bad, I doubt our lovely state police would hassle me over that. I'd probably have to figure out mud flaps though.

    I might give this a try. I'm not a welder by trade but I weld at work anyway, the CMC is no big deal for me, would probably have to gusset my spindles and shit too. I just really don't want to have to get into cutting fenders if I can avoid it.

    You also need to take into account what size rims you have. Exposed tire will depend on the width of the tire as well as the width of the rim.

    I had to trim my fender bases (by the cab mount) even with 33". The need to trim the circumference of the fender well is determined by your where your tire hits full flex. That could differ between every truck setup considering offset, backspaceing, tire width and tire height.

    Fenders cut 2.25", 4" BS, front wheel is at full stuff. Not much clearance with that much trimming, you will have a hell of a rubbing problem without cutting your fenders.

    The fenders are easy to cut, much easier than the snorkel. You can have all 4 zipped off in under an hour

    Got any pics of a cut in progress? It looks like most of it has to come off in the back (depending on camber) where the mud flaps mount. This is really a moot point till the spring, I'm putting studded snow tires on my stock rims this winter and will be buying new shit this spring. I drive through Bald Eagle SF every day on the way into work and they tend to.. not maintain the roads that early in the morning.

    Roger, how close would you say you get to rubbing / at approx what caster? If I'm going to do it I'm not above taking 2.5 or 2.75 if necessary. Obviously my situation will vary depending on what exact tires I go with and what their true diameter is.

    How close is measured in RCHs. And now at 4* caster and almost all my rubbing has gone away compared to previous 2.75*.

    Cool, thanks for all the info. I'll probably have to cut and beat a bit more, I prefer a lower caster because I drive winding roads for my commute and it makes sharp turns a bit easier.
