    I don't pretend to understand what that PDF really means but I do get that I have a possibly bad sensor. Which one and what part # do I google at the local parts houses to find a replacement?

    PDF is a Adobe file, kinda like a word document.

    With these issues and the misfires you've cleaned the MAF, changed plugs and wires. Have you changed the fuel filter? I'm curious to see what your fuel pressure is and the condition of your fuel injectors. Might want to run some Seafoam through the truck. Run about 1/3rd of the can through the PCV hose off the throttle body and dump the rest in the gas tank. Make sure the truck is at operating temp and disconnect the hose from the PCV valve and put a small funnel into it and slowly pour the Seafoam into the funnel. After you've run the Seafoam through it shut it off for about 5 minutes and then start it back up. The smoke is normal.

    Heh I know what a PDF file is. My job as an IT Specialist Security for the Navy is what I should stick with, at least I know what I'm doing and know how to fix stuff!

    What I meant was I don't know what he was trying to tell me by linking that PDF besides I need a new O2 sensor (guessing here). I don't know what kind or where it is located...or how to replace it. I'm so helpless!

    I've got some pics coming up of the original plugs and the first set I installed that were the wrong kind. Perhaps someone can see what I'm talking about and might have some additional suggestions.


    How much gas should the truck have before running seafom? I bought a replacement fuel filter but am very leary about tackling that one. Also, how do you determine fuel pressure and the condition of fuel injectors?

    Can you offer up a better process to the steps you provided? I don't know what/where/why a PCV valve is.

    Your truck doesnt have a PCV valve. Replace the fuel filter, as it should be done every 30K miles anyway. Low fuel pressure can cause miltiple random misfires. Dont sweat anything, as I am confident in the knowlege of the folks on this boared to help find the issues. :)

    I linked the PDF to help give you an idea as to what the ECU was seeing in regards to the sensor. This is the same book the Toyota Tech's use for trouble shooting. I don't want to just fix something for you, I'd rather help you to learn so that some day you maybe able to pass knowledge to someone else. :thumbsup:

    WHOELY SHIT! Those original plugs were SHOT!

    Good thing you replaced them. As for the black, it looks like black from Fuel....Kinda mat in color, and not glossy signifying oil.....May have run rich in that cylinder. If the fuel wasnt atomizing propperly, that could cause that. Im still thinking Fuel Filter replacement, and see what happens next. If its running better after that, some SeaFoam like Kilted Chicken (hard to type that with a straight face) said would be a good thing.

    There is a small hose running from the front of the throttle body down to the passenger side of the engine. See attached.

    Saw that while I was changing plugs...I know where that is!!!!!! OMG I will be rejoicing later about this!

    Thanks for the confirmation on PCV KC. So I would take the PCV valve out and use a funnel for about 1/3 can seafom and the rest goes in the tank. Guess it does not matter that I'm on 1/4 tank?

    Regarding the fuel filter, it looks tricky to me personally. I see how to unbolt and remove metal lines but they do not flex and they are ran through some guides similar to plug wires to maintain their position. Did I miss a good fuel filter replacement guide here on TW and Google? Links tips?

    Remove the hose that attaches to the PCV valve and leave the valve in its place. to make sure it is functioning correctly.

    Fuel filter replacement is a pain. I don't recall the correct size wrenches (want to say 19mm and 14mm) but it takes two per side to loosen and to tighten. After you get the lines disconnected it takes a little man handling to get it out.

    changed fuel filter, put a can of seafom in the tank and added a bit to the PCV valve hose in the front of the engine. Lots of smoke but the misfires and P1135 still exist.

    Thinking I'll replace the PCV as it's only a few bucks but other than that and the O2 sensor any more ideas?
